The present invention relates to a motor driving device and a method for measuring a phase current in a motor driving device, and specifically relates to a technique of measuring three phase currents of a three-phase brushless motor using a current sensor for measuring the DC bus current in the inverter. The control unit according to the present invention shifts a pulse phase of a PWM pulse such that pulse phases of the three phase PWM pulses in a first PWM cycle of the PWM control differ from those in a second PWM cycle of the PWM control, and measures the three phase currents from the output of the current sensor in these two first and second PWM cycles. The control unit calculates an offset error of the current sensor from these three phase current measurements and learns a correction value used for performing offset correction on the electric-current measurement.

A stress mitigation region is formed in which a predetermined number of stress mitigation holes penetrating through a wiring are disposed is formed in a proximity of a bonding portion of an electronic component via which the electronic component is bonded to the wiring with an electrically conductive bonding agent. Accordingly, even if a stress is generated in the wiring due to a heat, the stress mitigation holes are deformed so that the stress acted upon the electrically conductive bonding agent becomes small and a generation of cracks in the electrically conductive bonding agent can be suppressed. In addition, the stress mitigation holes are made circular so that concentrations of a current and the stress can be reduced and the generation of the cracks in the wiring can be suppressed.

An object of the present invention is to realize a feedback control apparatus and an electrically driven power steering apparatus capable of safely continuing control operation even in the event of the occurrence of a soft error. A controllerof the present invention determines a d-axis target voltage Vd and a q-axis target voltage Vq, which are control values for controlling an output value of the electrically driven power steering apparatus on the basis of a d-axis error signal &#x3b4;Id and a q-axis error signal &#x3b4;Iq, which are input values. In this processing, in a period before the occurrence of the soft error, the controllerdetermines the d-axis target voltage Vd and the q-axis target voltage Vq by means of PID control that uses a current input value and a past input value. In a period after the occurrence of the soft error, the d-axis target voltage Vd and the q-axis target voltage Vq are determined by means of P control that uses a current input value but does not use a past input value. In a period after a lapse of the above period, the PID control is resumed.

To provide a controller and a control method for an electric motor including plural energization systems each composed of an inverter and coils corresponding to plural phases. The controller performs first diagnosis processing for detecting an abnormality in each system under energization control, and second diagnosis processing for detecting an abnormality in each system not under energization control. To provide drive controller and control method for an electric motor including plural energization systems composed of an inverter and coils corresponding to plural phases. The controller includes: a current detecting unit for detecting currents between the coils and output points of the inverter or between the coils and a connection point between the coils; an inverter setting unit for controlling an inverter of the energization system involving abnormal energization into a predetermined condition; a torque detecting unit for detecting a torque generated in the energization system involving the abnormal energization based on a current in the energization system, which is detected by the current detecting unit; and a control unit for controlling a normal inverter based on the torque detected by the torque detecting unit. The present invention relates to an electric motor drive device where a first inverter and a second inverter both supply power to one electric motor and to a control method for the electric motor drive device. A control unit for controlling an output of each inverter increases an output of the inverter of which a drive control system has first completed an initial diagnosis, ahead of the other inverter. If either inverter is about to overheat, the control unit decreases an output of the inverter that is about to overheat while keeping or increasing an output of the other inverter having the normal temperature.
