A cable includes an elastic member extendable and compressible in a first direction and a first conductor having a meandering portion embedded in the elastic member. The meandering portion meanders within the elastic member and extends in the first direction. It is preferable that a plurality of coating members are arranged in parallel in the first direction and coupled to a surface of the elastic member. In addition, it is preferable that each of the coating members is harder than the elastic member.

Extendable cable or extendable connecting member

In a magnetic connector acquiring connection with a mating connector by magnetic force, a base member has a particular surface to be faced to the mating connector upon connection. An electrode terminal is fixed to the base member and adapted to be electrically connected to the mating connector. The base member has a magnetic force generating portion having a plurality of magnetic poles for producing the magnetic force. N and the S poles of the magnetic poles are alternately arranged along the particular surface in a predetermined direction. Thus, the connector is properly positioned relative to the mating connector by the magnetic force.

A connector provides electrical connection between an object () to be connected having contact portions () and a mating connection object () having mating contact portions (). The connection is achieved when the connector is in contact with the contact portions () and the mating contact portions (). The connector has a base member (), elastic members () provided on the base member, electrically conductive patterns () arranged on the base member so as to provide electrical connection between the front and back surfaces of the base member, and terminals () arranged on the elastic members () so as to be in contact with the contact portions () and the mating contact portions (). The terminals () and the conductive patterns () are connected to each other. Those portions of the base member () where either elastic members () or conductive patterns are provided are shaped in a mesh-like form.

A method of making electrical connecting elements includes a metallic thin film is formed on a mold having protrusions complementary in shape to a conductor pattern to be formed; a substrate having a transfer layer of adherent (or adhesive) material applied to one side surface thereof is provided; and the transfer layer side of the substrate is brought into intimate contact with the metallic thin film laid over the protrusions , followed by pulling the transfer layer apart from the mold so as to transfer the metallic thin film covering the protrusions onto the transfer layer to thereby form the conductor pattern on the transfer layer

Method of producing electrical connecting elements

A metallic thin film is formed on a mold having protrusions complementary in shape to a conductor pattern to be formed; a substrate having a transfer layer of adherent (or adhesive) material applied to one side surface thereof is provided; and the transfer layer side of the substrate is brought into intimate contact with the metallic thin film laid over the protrusions , followed by pulling the transfer layer apart from the mold so as to transfer the metallic thin film covering the protrusions onto the transfer layer to thereby form the conductor pattern on the transfer layer . The metal film may include cooper and a weak adherence layer which may be gold.
