Resin of polycarbonate and graft copolymer of unsaturated epoxy monomer

A molding resin composition comprising (A) a saturated polyester resin, (B) a graft copolymer and (C) a rubber-reinforced resin, wherein a weight ratio of the saturated polyester resin (A) to a total weight of the graft copolymer (B) and the rubber-reinforced resin (C) is from 95:5 to 5:95, a weight ratio of the graft copolymer (B) to the rubber-reinforced resin is from 100:0 to 5:95, and the graft copolymer (B) is one prepared by copolymerizing an unsaturated epoxide monomer and at least one monomer selected from the group consisting of aromatic vinyl monomers, cyanated vinyl monomers and alkyl unsaturated carboxylates in the presence of an ethylene-.alpha.-olefin base rubber, which can provide a molded article having improved impact strength, weld strength, stiffness and mold shrinkage factor.

Molding resin composition

A weather resistant thermoplastic resin composition which comprises (A) a graft polymer comprising (A-1) chosen from a copolymer of ethylene and propylene, a terpolymer of ethylene, propylene and a non-conjugated diene, a copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate, an alkyl acrylate or methacrylate polymer and a chlorinated polyethylene and (A-2) at least two kinds of monomers chosen from aromatic vinyl compounds, vinyl cyanide compounds and unsaturated carboxylic acid alkyl esters grafted thereon and (B) a terpolymer comprising styrene aromatic compounds, vinyl cyanide compounds and unsaturated carboxylic acid alkyl esters. The weight proportion of the graft polymer (A) and the terpolymer (B) is preferably from 10:90 to 90:10. In particular the amounts of styrene the vinyl cyanide compounds and the unsaturated carboxylic acid alkyl esters in the terpolymer (B) are 3 to 65% by weight, 2 to 35% by weight and 3 to 95% by weight, respectively. The result is an improved in color development, impact resistance and resistance to thermal decomposition.

Weather resistant thermoplastic resin composition

A weather-resistant resin having excellent impact resistance, processability and appearance, which comprises a graft polymer comprising an ethylene/alpha-olefin elastomer and at least one monomeric component chosen from aromatic vinyl monomers, vinyl cyanides and alkyl unsaturated carboxylates grafted thereon, the graft polymer having a material soluble in tetrahydrofuran and n-hexane in a volume ratio of 1:4 in a content of not more than 40% by weight and having a material insoluble in tetrahydrofuran in a content of not more than 60% by weight.

Weather-resistant resin, and its production

A process for producing a thermoplastic resin having excellent impact resistance and processability, which comprises: polymerizing an aromatic monovinyl monomer and a vinyl cyanide monomer in the presence of an aqueous elastomeric latex, mixing with agitation the resulting copolymer latex with an aromatic monovinyl monomer and a vinyl cyanide monomer in the presence of a polyalkylene oxide and a coagulant to give a stable suspension phase, and polymerizing the mixture, and said thermoplastic resin thus produced, and a composition comprising said thermoplastic resin and a copolymer produced from an aromatic monovinyl monomer and a vinyl cyanide monomer.

Process for producing thermoplastic resin

A process for producing a thermoplastic resin having excellent impact resistance and processability, which comprises polymerizing an aromatic monovinyl monomer and a vinyl cyanide monomer in the presence of an aqueous elastomeric latex, mixing with agitation the resulting copolymer latex with an aromatic monovinyl monomer and a vinyl cyanide monomer in the presence of a polyalkylene oxide and a coagulant to give a stable suspension phase, and polymerizing the mixture, and said thermoplastic resin thus produced, and a composition comprising said thermoplastic resin and a copolymer produced from an aromatic monovinyl monomer and a vinyl cyanide monomer.
