A biometric measurement apparatus has a measurement unit for measuring bioelectric impedance of different parts of a body and hematocrit. The measurement unit has impedance calculators (IPG, IPG) for measuring the impedance of tissues and blood of a living body with a first frequency to output as a first impedance (Z), and for measuring the impedance of the tissues and blood of the living body with a second frequency to output as a second impedance (Z), and has pulse wave analyzing units (MSand MS) for analyzing differences of the first impedance between a first time and a second time and difference (&#x394;Z) of the second impedance between the first time and the second time, and a hematocrit calculator () for calculating hematocrit based on the difference (&#x394;Z) of the first impedance and the difference (&#x394;Z) of the second impedance.

Biometric measurement apparatus

A body motion measuring apparatus is described, embodiments of which include an apparatus for detecting the magnitudes of motions in different directions at a time using body motion sensors, calculating the size V of a composite vector based on the relationship between the magnitudes of the motions, comparing the size V of the composite vector with a reference value to determine whether the size V of the composite vector is adequate, calculating an angle &#x3b8; based on the relationship between the magnitudes of the motions when V is determined to be adequate, calculating a body motion output M taking the angle &#x3b8; into account, and counting a predetermined body motion based on the relationship between M and a predetermined elapsed time.

Body motion measuring apparatus

A first bearing member is provided on a key top. A second bearing member is provided on the key top. A first guide member is provided on a board. A second guide member is provided on the board. A first link member is disposed between the board and the key top, and has a first end portion rotatably supported by the first bearing member and a second end portion engaged with the first guide member. A second link member is disposed between the board and the key top, and has a third end portion rotatably supported by the second bearing member and a fourth end portion engaged with the second guide member. A third link member is disposed between the board and the key top. The first link member, the second link member, and the third link member are not in contact with each other. The second end portion is slidable relative to the first guide member in a first horizontal direction so that the first end portion is movable in a vertical direction. The fourth end portion is slidable relative to the second guide member in a second horizontal direction opposite to the first horizontal direction so that the third end portion is movable in the vertical direction. The first link member and the second link member are symmetrically arranged.

Key switch device

A first bearing member is provided on one of an upper face of a board member and a lower face of a key top member. A first guide member is provided on the other one of the upper face of the board member and the lower face of the key top member. A first link member is disposed between the board member and the key top member, and has a first end portion rotatably supported by the first bearing member and a second end portion engaged with the first guide member. The first link member is pivotable in a first direction about the first end portion thereof to allow the key top member to move in a vertical direction. The second end portion of the first link member is slidable relative to the first guide member in a horizontal direction in accordance with the movement of the key top member.

Walking support system

A body fat measuring apparatus for measuring body fat in a patient's body comprises apparatus for simultaneously measuring an impedance between the patient's feet, and for measuring the patient's height and the patient's weight, and a calculator for calculating body fat from the measured impedance value, height and weight. The calculator estimates body density using a formula having a correction term either for increasing the body density upon increase of the impedance compared to the original impedance or a correction term for decreasing the body density upon increase of the weight with respect to the original weight.
