The present invention provides a fixed bed reactor for carrying out a mixed gas/liquid phase reaction, wherein the reactor has a piping structure composed of microchannels, the cross-sectional area of the fixed bed is 0.0001 cmto 0.008 cmand a single or parallely arranged two or more fixed beds, and the reactor has, in addition to the fixed beds, a gas phase distribution portion, a portion for introducing the gas phase to the fixed bed, a liquid phase distribution portion, a portion for introducing the liquid phase to the fixed bed, a packing material introduction portion and a fluid merging portion, a gas/liquid mixed phase reaction process for carrying out a gas/liquid mixed phase reaction using the fixed bed reactor described above, and further a process for producing hydrogen peroxide in which the reaction is started and stopped in a reducing atmosphere, and the present invention further provides a novel fixed bed gas/liquid mixed phase reactor which makes it possible to carry out gas/liquid mixed phase reactions stably and under steady state conditions by using microchannels.

Fixed bed mixed gas/liquid phase reactor and mixed gas/liquid phase reaction process using the same

A hydrogenation catalyst for the production of hydrogen peroxide by the hydrogenation of anthraquinones in accordance with a hydrogen peroxide production process utilizing an anthraquinone method. The catalyst includes palladium supported on a carrier. The carrier comprises spherical silica particles, wherein at least 90 wt % of the silica particles have particle diameters of 10 to 100 .mu.m. The silica particles have an average particle diameter of 30 to 60 .mu.m and a pore volume of 0.4 to 1.0 ml/g. The catalyst has desirable activity, strength, service life and selectivity.

Hydrogenation catalyst for production of hydrogen peroxide, and method

A method for preparing hydrogen peroxide in accordance with an anthraquinone method, comprising hydrogenating at least one anthraquinone with a hydrogenation catalyst comprising palladium and at least one alkali metal, supported on a silica carrier, wherein the at least one alkali metal is in an amount of 0.1% to 5 wt % based on the weight of the silica carrier.

A process for producing hydrogen peroxide by subjecting a working solution containing anthraquinones as the reaction medium, to reduction and oxidation alternately, which process is characterized in that (1) the anthraquinones as the reaction medium contained in the working solution are a mixture of an alkyl-substituted anthraquinone and an alkyl-substituted tetrahydroanthraquinone, (2) in the reduction step, the total amount of the alkyl-substituted tetrahydroanthraquinone in the working solution and part or the total amount of the alkyl-substituted anthraquinone in the working solution are reduced, and (3) in the working solution after the reduction step, the content of the alkyl-substituted anthrahydroquinone formed is kept higher than the content of the alkyl-substituted tetrahydroanthrahydroquinone formed.

Process for producing hydrogen peroxide

An acceleration sensor is disclosed, which comprises a movable permanent magnet, a case of a non-magnetic material having a space with the movable permanent magnet movable therein, a magnetic yoke provided on the case and extending in a direction crossing the directions of movement of the movable permanent magnet, and a lead switch for forming a closed magnetic circuit together with the movable permanent magnet and magnetic yoke, the lead switch being turned on and off with a movement of the movable permanent magnet caused due to an acceleration produced by shocks or vibrations. Another acceleration sensor is disclosed, which is operable in response to a predetermined acceleration to open a first magnetic circuit with a permanent magnet and close a second magnetic circuit with the permanent magnet so as to close a lead switch and comprises a movable magnetic member held stationary in the first magnetic circuit and moved in response to a predetermined acceleration in a direction crossing and to close the first magnetic circuit.
