A heating cooker includes a cooking chamber accommodating an object to be cooked, a hot air generator and a blower. Hot air generated by the generator impinges as a high-speed impinging jet on the object from a nozzle hole located in a ceiling plate. The hot air having impinged on the object is drawn our through hot-air suction openings located in lower parts of right and left sidewalls of the chamber by the blower. A shelf plate is located in the chamber so that the object is placed on it. The shelf plate has openings on right and left sides. Hot air is caused to impinge on the object through the nozzle hole. The shelf has a convex portion formed on a face on which the object is to be placed which supports the object from below.

Heating cooker

A microwave oven includes a heating chamber in which food to be cooked is contained, a magnetron for range-heating the food contained in the heating chamber, a temperature sensor for sensing the temperature of an atmosphere containing hot air emanating from the food being range-heated in the heating chamber, and a controller for controlling an operation of the magnetron based on fluctuations of the temperatures sensed by the temperature sensor.

A high frequency heating apparatus includes a frequency conversion section including a switching element and converting a commercial power supply frequency to high frequency waves by an on-off control of the switching element, a step-up transformer stepping up an alternating output from the frequency conversion section, a rectification circuit connected at a secondary side of the step-up transformer, a magnetron driven by a direct current power from the rectification circuit, an anode current detection circuit detecting an anode current of the magnetron, and a control circuit for controlling an 'on' period of the switching element in response to a detection signal from the anode current detection circuit so that the anode current is maintained at a predetermined value, thereby stabilizing a high frequency power produced by the magnetron against different commercial power supplies.

High frequency heating apparatus

A microwave oven includes a step-up transformer having primary and secondary windings, an inverter inducing a high frequency oscillating current at the primary winding of the transformer by an on-off operation of a switching element, a magnetron to which a DC voltage is applied by the transformer, a current transformer detecting an input current to the inverter, a control circuit for controlling 'on' and 'off' periods of the switching element so that a magnetron anode current is controlled, and a detecting winding arranged in the transformer so as to be magnetically connected to the primary winding. The detecting winding detects an induced voltage which indicates either a short-circuit or open-circuit in the secondary circuit of the transformer. The control circuit detects an abnormal condition of the secondary circuit of the transformer based on the induced voltage detected by the detecting winding. Upon detection of the abnormal condition, the control circuit operates to interrupt the operation of the switching element.

High frequency heating apparatus with abnormal condition detection

A cooking apparatus determining a temperature of food to be cooked by detecting the changes in the intensity of the infrared rays from the food. The cooking apparatus includes an infrared ray detecting circuit having a detecting element which detects infrared rays from the food. When the actual temperature change in the vicinity of the detecting element is more than a predetermined value, the detecting element is prevented from receiving the infrared rays from the food. The detecting element detects the actual temperature, and the infrared ray detecting circuit outputs the corresponding detection value. The detection value from the infrared ray detecting circuit is stored in a control circuit. The output of the infrared ray detecting circuit is corrected by the stored detection value when the detecting element is exposed to the infrared rays from the food in order to carry out a precise temperature detection for the food.

Cooking apparatus capable of detecting temperature of food to be cooked

A display apparatus including a display device which is formed with a plurality of display elements. A drive circuit supplies a drive voltage from a rectified AC commercial supply voltage to the individual display elements. A control circuit controls the drive circuit to sequentially energize the display elements over a phase angel of the AC supply which minimizes differences in the voltage applied across the individual display elements, thus avoiding flickering in the display of the display device even if fluctuations of the drive voltage applied to the display elements occur.

An infrared sensor made of LiTaO.sub.3 is provided on a ceiling of a heating chamber of a microwave oven, and a chopper is provided so as to intermittently block infrared radiation emitted from food in the heating chamber. The infrared sensor is brought to face the food and the chopper alternately and provides a corresponding AC output signal. The temperature of the chopper is detected from the output signal of a separately provided chopper temperature sensor consisting of a thermister. The detected chopper temperature output signal is corrected in a microcomputer to be substantially in accord with chopper temperature components in the output signal of the infrared sensor. The corrected chopper temperature data is applied to the infrared sensor output data for removing the chopper temperature components from the output signal of the infrared sensor to obtain a food temperature signal corresponding to the sole temperature of the food.

Temperature measuring apparatus

A microwave oven having an oven cavity and including an electric power source, a magnetron for generating microwave energy in the oven cavity in which foods to be heated are placed, control means coupled to said magnetron in order to control the power of the magnetron, wherein the control means include sensor means for sensing the temperature of the food placed in the oven cavity, and temperature setting means for controlling the magnetron power output in response to the detected food temperature to provide a variable microwave energy output under the control of the control means.

A high frequency heating apparatus, which is provided with a cooking card, and wherein a cooking program indicating a power level corresponding to a specified cooking time and a power level corresponding to a prescribed foodstuff temperature is preset in the cooking card; the data of the cooking program preset in the cooking card which are read out by a cooking card-reading device are stored in the corresponding addresses of a memory unit; cooking is carried out at a power level read out of the memory unit; and a cooking time and corresponding power level or a foodstuff temperature and corresponding power level are indicated on a display device.
