A seat cushion is to pivot to be in a horizontal reversed state and it has a back side. A seat back is to pivot to be in a horizontal reversed state and has a reverse side. The reverse side in the horizontal reversed state has a height substantially equal to one of the back side of the seat cushion in the horizontal reversed state. An arm is attached to a lower end of the seat back and supports the lower end of the seat back to be rotated. A roller is fixed to a lower end of the arm and projects outward in a transverse direction of a vehicle body. A slide rail is fixed to a floor and engages with the roller to be slid forward and rearward. A lock mechanism detachably engages with the roller. A back link is connected to an intermediate fulcrum of the seat back above the roller and is connected to one of an intermediate portion of the slide rail and a peripheral member around the portion. A stopper is provided at the lower end of the seat back. The stopper engages with the arm for preventing the arm from rotating. An operating means is for releasing engagement with the stopper and the arm and is provided at an upper part of the seat back. The seat back pivots forward to be in a horizontal reversed state when releasing the lock mechanism and sliding the roller of the seatback rearward. The seat back pivots on the lower end thereof to fall down rearward for a reclining state when releasing engagement with the stopper and the arm.

Seat structure for vehicle

A flattable seat structure of an automobile includes: a slide rail fixed to a floor of the automobile; a seat cushion having a front roller which is engaged with the slide rail in a front-and-rear direction slidably; a first lock mechanism for maintaining the seat cushion in a seated state; a seat back having a lower-end roller which is engaged with the slide rail in the front-and-rear direction slidably; a second lock mechanism for maintaining the seat back in a seated state; a cushion link connected with a middle fulcrum of the seat cushion and connected with a middle portion of the slide rail; and a back link whose one end is connected with a middle fulcrum of the seat back positioned in an upper side further than the lower-end roller, the other end of the back link being connected with the middle portion of the slide rail. In the construction, after the first and second lock mechanism are released, a back surface of the seat cushion and a rear surface of the seat back are facing and in a same horizontal level.

Flattable seat structure of automobile

An automobile seat is composed of a seat cushion, seat back, and supporting element. The seat cushion supports the hip portion of a vehicle occupant at its normal position. The seat cushion is disposed so that the seat cushion may be freely movable while being forwardly rotated about a front end supporting fulcrum from the normal position to an inverted position. The seat cushion has a reverse surface which is made substantially horizontal at its inverted position. The seat back supports the back of the vehicle occupant at its normal position. The seat back is disposed so that the seat back may be freely movable while being forwardly fallen down from the normal position to a fall-down position. The seat back has a rear surface which is made substantially horizontal at its fall-down position. The reverse surface of the seat cushion at the inverted position and the rear surface of the seat back at the fall-down position are located at substantially the same height level. By the movements of the seat cushion and seat back to their respective inverted position and fall-down position, the seat has its attitude changed from its ordinary state to its flat state. The supporting element fixes the seat cushion and seat back to an automobile body. The supporting element supports the seat cushion and seat back so that the seat cushion and seat back may be freely backwardly slidable from a first position for the ordinary state to a second position for the flat state.
