Mechanisms for detecting a voltage level on a data communication interface between a slave device and a host device are disclosed. Based on the detected voltage level, the slave device may respond to the host device on the data communication interface at the detected voltage level. The slave device may include a circuit configured to toggle between a first voltage level and a second voltage level to provide one of the first voltage level or the second voltage level corresponding to the detected voltage level on the data communication interface.

Illustrative embodiments enable a MEMS transducer to quickly recover from, acoustic overload events by quickly resetting signal processing circuitry downstream from a MEMS transducer. An acoustic overload sensor detects occurrence of an acoustic overload event, and triggers a reset circuit to operate a set of switches to rapidly drain charge from a corresponding set of capacitances within the transducer, or within the signal processing circuitry, thereby resetting the signal processing circuitry more rapidly than would occur if said transducer or circuitry were allowed to recover on its own.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide amplifiers. Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide methods and apparatus for protecting an such amplifiers, for example an audio amplifier, or a delta-sigma modulator from saturation. One example amplifier generally includes an output stage comprising a plurality of transistors; and a feedback network having an input coupled to an output of the output stage and comprising a plurality of integrators connected in series. At least one of the plurality of integrators generally includes an operational amplifier having an input and an output, a first resistive element coupled to the input of the operational amplifier, a capacitive element coupled between the input and the output of the operational amplifier; and a first switch coupled between the input and the output of the operational amplifier. For certain aspects, the amplifier may be a class-D amplifier or a direct digital feedback amplifier (DDFA).
