An electrostatic discharge protection circuit may include discharge path circuitry to discharge charge on a supply line in response to detection of an ESD event. The charge on the supply line may be discharged through the discharge path circuitry from when a first timing window opens until a second timing window closes. The first timing window may also be used to detect ESD events. The two timing windows may allow an initial period of the ESD voltage on the supply line to be suppressed before the second timing window opens, and may further allow a remaining period of the ESD event following the initial period to be suppressed after the first timing window closes.

ESD protection circuit with two discharge time periods

A first charge module includes a first resistor and a first capacitor. A second charge module includes a second resistor and a second capacitor. A voltage comparison module includes a comparator connected to compare voltages present on the first and second capacitors. The comparator is connected to output a signal having a first state when the voltage on the first capacitor is less than the voltage on the second capacitor, and output a signal having a second state opposite of the first state when the voltage on the first capacitor is greater than the voltage on the second capacitor. A control module is configured to receive a PWM signal as an input signal and generate control signals based on the received PWM signal for controlling charging and discharging of the first and second capacitors. The output of the comparator is a decoded version of the PWM signal.

Systems, circuitry, and methods for decoding pulse width modulated signal

A voltage regulator compensation circuit provides power to a dynamic load and includes a power transistor configured to drive the dynamic load, a reference determining transistor configured to establish a voltage reference proportional to a regulated output voltage of the power transistor, and a control circuit coupled to a gate input of both the power transistor and the reference determining transistor. Also included is a comparison engine configured to compare the regulated output voltage and the voltage reference, and a current consuming transistor operatively coupled to an output of the power transistor and configured to provide a varying secondary load. The comparison engine is configured to control the current consuming transistor to increase current draw or decrease current draw from the power transistor based on the difference between the regulated output voltage and the voltage reference.

Method and apparatus for optimizing linear regulator transient performance

An apparatus is configured to provide a voltage rising at the output with a programmable slew rate. The apparatus comprises a ramp-up control circuit module for supplying an increasing output voltage that is output to a load circuit. The ramp-up control circuit comprises an amplifier that receives the output of a plurality of selectable mirrored current sources that build up voltage across a capacitor for programming a selected linear slew rate for the increasing output voltage. The apparatus further comprises a glitch filter circuit for stabilizing the increasing output voltage so as to minimize glitches, including current and voltage stress, in the output voltage.

Programmable slew rate power switch

A voltage to frequency conversion system may be used in association with clock related applications such as a closed loop oscillator. The voltage to frequency conversion system includes independent current sources that are synchronously operated to generate substantially the same respective output currents under varying temperature and supply voltage conditions. One of the current sources is used to generate a reference voltage, and the other of the current sources is used to charge a capacitor in a predetermined ramp. The capacitor may be selectively charged and discharged based on a frequency of an input signal, and an average of the variable charge voltage of the capacitor may be compared to the reference voltage to generate an analog output signal indicative of frequency.

Voltage and temperature compensated frequency converter

Systems and methods providing for improved voltage regulation of a supply voltage for an integrated circuit are described herein. The voltage regulator circuit includes a feedback circuit coupled to a first current path and adapted to maintain a gate voltage of a feedback transistor substantially constant. A pass device is coupled to a second current path and adapted to receive a signal with a magnitude based on first and second currents supplied by first and second current sources to the second current path. In an embodiment, the first current is a substantially constant current and the second current has a magnitude based on a magnitude of the voltage at the feedback transistor gate and a magnitude of a voltage at an output of the voltage regulator circuit coupled to the pass device.

Transient load voltage regulator

An oscillator utilizes two current sources that have the same temperature and VDD dependency so they generate the same current in changing conditions. Therefore, there is very low VT dependency. The resistor and fringe capacitor temperature coefficient are very low and opposite so they compensate for each other. A comparator with a short period of operation also minimizes VT dependency.
