The invention provides a method of noninvasively treating a condition associated with reduced integrity or increased permeability of an epithelial layer by a series of magnetic pulses having a magnitude of up to 3 T, wherein the magnetic pulses are designed to induce an electric field having a magnitude of up to 250 Volt per meter adjacent to a target treatment area, the condition particularly being ocular condition associated with reduced barrier function of the cornea. The invention provides a device for effecting the tissue treatment, creating series of pulses exhibiting a rate of change of more than 200 T/s in the absolute value.

Enhancing epithelial integrity by a sequence of magnetic pulses

An ocular positioning system for use with a magnetic treatment apparatus for treating an eye of a subject is provided, where the magnetic treatment apparatus includes a magnetic coil for generating a magnetic field and an electric field. The ocular positioning system includes a housing having a proximal end and a distal end, wherein the magnetic coil is disposed in the housing near the proximal end. A positioning member is at least partially attached to the housing proximal end, the positioning member including a base and an eyecup coupled thereon, where the eyecup is configured to receive an orbital region of the subject. At least one sensor is connected to the housing and in electrical communication with the magnetic coil, wherein when the at least one sensor detects the positioning member then the magnetic coil is capable of being activated for treatment.

The device includes one or more coil applicators; and a generator configured to drive a stimulation coil that is housed within the coil applicator that faces a tissue being treated. An in-vivo device may be propelled in the gastrointestinal tract by a magnetic force such that the direction of the magnetic force applied to the in-vivo device follows, or is continually adapted to, the instantaneous spatial orientation of the in-vivo device. As the in-vivo device changes orientation in the gastrointestinal tract by the wall of the gastrointestinal tract, so does the magnetic force, to follow suit.

Method and system for moving an in-vivo device in the gastrointestinal tract

Embodiments of the invention include a method and system for displaying an in vivo imaging procedure. The method includes receiving real-time image data captured by the capsule, and continuously generating an updated summarized color bar, said color bar comprising color strips and time scale marks. The color bar is calculated based on color values of received image data, and is updated continuously as new image data is received. The displayed time period is periodically updated, for example based on predetermined fixed time intervals, based on varying time intervals, or based on an accumulated amount of received image data. Other methods of determining the periodic updates may be used.
