An axle assembly having an electric motor, a wheel end assembly, and a reduction gear module. The electric motor may have a rotor that is rotatable about a first axis. The wheel end assembly may be rotatable about a second axis that may be disposed above the first axis. The reduction gear module may transmit torque between the electric motor and the wheel end assembly.

Axle assembly

An axle assembly and a method of assembly. An outboard wheel is mounted to an outboard mounting arrangement of a wheel hub. An inboard wheel and a brake drum are mounted to an inboard mounting arrangement of the wheel hub such that a brake drum mounting arrangement of the brake drum is axially positioned between the inboard wheel and the inboard mounting arrangement.

A drive axle system that includes first and second wheel end assemblies, a support structure, and an electric motor. A support structure supports the first and second wheel end assemblies and the electric motor. The electric motor has a rotor that is rotatable about a rotor axis. A bogie axle assembly having a housing, a spindle, a drive sprocket unit, and a planetary gear set. The drive sprocket unit may be fixedly disposed on a planet gear carrier of the planetary gear set. The spindle may be fixedly disposed on the housing. The drive sprocket unit may be rotatably supported by at least one roller bearing assembly that may be disposed between the spindle and the drive sprocket unit.

Bogie axle assembly

An axle assembly having a sun gear that may be received in a housing assembly. A washer may be received in a groove on the sun gear. A snap ring may inhibit axial movement of the washer with respect to the sun gear. A housing snap ring and a thrust washer may cooperate to inhibit axial movement of the washer with respect to the housing assembly.

Axle assembly having a sun gear positioning arrangement

An axle assembly having a wheel mount that is disposed on a planet carrier of a planetary gear set. The wheel mount may be fixedly positioned with respect to the planet carrier with one or more fasteners and one or more dowels so that the wheel mount and planet carrier may rotate together about an axis.

Axle assembly having a wheel mount disposed on a planet carrier

A bogie axle system having an axle housing, a planetary gear set, a chain housing, and a slew bearing assembly. The axle housing may at least partially receive planetary gear set. The chain housing may receive a drive sprocket unit. The slew bearing assembly may pivotally couple the chain housing to the axle housing.
