The invention relates to a laser tracker-based surveying system having a measurement aid which comprises an inertial measurement unit (IMU). The surveying system is designed to determine coordinates of points of a surface which are sampled by means of the measurement aid.

The invention relates to a six-DoF measurement aid for determining 3D coordinates of a multiplicity of object points to be measured in the form of 3D points of a point cloud in cooperation with a laser tracker, having an environment sensor arrangement and a control module. The control module comprises a platform control assistance functionality, which is configured to instruct the environment sensor arrangement, during the automatically guided movement of the six-DoF measurement aid, in a first mode to generate environmental information for determining an environmental normal, and in a second mode to generate environmental information for detecting anomalies with respect to the environmental normal, and to provide the environmental information generated by the environment sensor arrangement for control assistance of the platform control.

Six-DoF measurement aid

A system configured for rough localization of moveable cooperative targets. The system includes at least one laser tracker, having a moveable upper part connected to a base part, an optical target rough location detector automatically detecting a rough location of a cooperative target, a target fine position detector automatically detecting a fine position of a cooperative target within a fine position field of view, motors for changing an orientation of the moveable upper part, a motor controller, and a computer, a first and a second radio frequency telegram (RFT) transceiver (RFTT) anchor-module, wherein each RFTT anchor-module's position is referenced to the laser tracker, a cooperative target associated with a RFTT tag-module and each of the RFTT tag- and anchor-modules an evaluation unit configured for determining a RFT-transmission specific parameter based on the transmission of RFTs between the RFTT anchor- and tag-modules and providing said RFT-transmission specific parameter to the computer.

Embodiments of the invention relate to a method for determining a change in distance to a moving and reflective target. Embodiments of the invention can be performed by means of interferometry and may include the generation of laser radiation, the emission of the measurement radiation to the target, and the detection of at least part of the measurement radiation reflected at the target. In some embodiments, a superposition of the reflected measurement radiation with the reference radiation is generated and detected, an interferometer output variable is derived on the basis of the detected superposition, and/or a time-resolved output variable curve is produced from the derived interferometer output variable. In some embodiments, the output variable curve is continually checked in that the output variable curve is continually read out in a time-resolved manner.

Method for determining a change in distance to a movable and reflective target by means of interferometer to determine if the movement of the reflective target is really executable

Some embodiments include a laser tracker having: a base defining a standing axis; a beam steering unit for emitting a measurement radiation; a distance measuring unit for determining the distance to the target; and angle measurement functionality for determining an alignment of the beam steering unit. The beam steering unit can swivel around the standing axis and a tilt axis relative to the base. A measurement axis is defined by an emission direction of the measurement radiation. The laser tracker may include a target-seeking unit having lighting means and at least one target-seeking camera having a position-sensitive detector. The one target-seeking field can be illuminated by means of the lighting means. A search image for the position dependent identification of the target can be detected with the target-seeking camera and at least part of the lighting beam reflected on the target can be determined as a search image position.

Laser tracker with functionality for graphical target preparation

A positioning method continuously determines the spatial position of an auxiliary measuring instrument having several auxiliary-point markings in a fixed, known spatial distribution relative to one another. Camera images of the auxiliary-point markings are continually recorded using a camera having a surface sensor that includes pixels, and read-out processes are continually performed by reading out the pixels with regard to a respective current exposure value. Image positions of the imaged auxiliary-point markings in the respective current camera image are determined, with which the current spatial position of the auxiliary measuring instrument is derived. Respective current areas of interest on the surface sensor are continually set using image positions determined in at least one previously recorded camera image. The current image positions are determined using exclusively only at most those current exposure values that are received by pixels of the surface sensor lying within the currently set areas of interest.
