The invention concerns an antenna arrangement () comprising: &#x2014;a printed circuit board () having a metallised area () acting as a ground plane () in use, &#x2014;a recess portion () in an edge portion of the ground plane (), &#x2014;a first electrically reactive network () bridging the recess portion ()&#x2014;a second electrically reactive network () bridging the recess portion (), separately from the first electrically reactive network (), wherein an electrical length of the recess portion () is 1/10th of a wavelength of the resonance frequency of the antenna arrangement () or less, and wherein a physical distance between the first () and second () electrically reactive networks () is less than 1/12 of a wavelength of the resonance frequency of the antenna arrangement (). The invention also concerns a device comprising an antenna arrangement ().

The present invention comprises an antenna device for a portable radio communication device operable in at least a first and a second frequency band. The antenna device comprises a first electrically conductive radiating element having a feeding portion connectable to a feed device (RF) of the radio communication device for feeding and receiving radio frequency signals, a first ground plane portion arranged at a distance from the first radiating element, a second ground plane portion, and a controllable switch arranged between the first and second ground plane portion for selectively interconnecting or disconnecting the first and second ground plane portion.
