There is provided mechanisms for OTA calibration of an AAS. The AAS comprises N antenna branches, each of which comprises a respective subarray. The subarray of each antenna branch gives rise to a subarray antenna pattern extending over an angular interval. A method is performed by a test equipment. The method comprises obtaining measurement values for each of the antenna branches. At least one measurement value is obtained per each antenna branch. The method comprises determining one calibration factor value per antenna branch using the measurement values and taking the subarray antenna patterns into account. The method comprises applying the determined calibration factor values to the N antenna branches, thereby calibrating the AAS.

Over the air calibration of an advanced antenna system

The present disclosure relates to an antenna system (') comprising: &#x2014;a first set of antenna ports (), &#x2014;a second set of antenna ports () separate from the first set of antenna ports (), &#x2014;a third set of antenna ports () that at least partly comprises each one of the first set of antenna ports () and the second set of antenna ports (), &#x2014;a transmitter arrangement (&#x2032;), and &#x2014;a receiver (&#x2032;). The transmitter arrangement (&#x2032;) comprises a first transmitter (&#x2032;) adapted for transmission of signals by means of a first downlink communication resource () via the first set of antenna ports () and a second transmitter (&#x2032;) adapted for transmission of signals by means of a second downlink communication resource () via the second set of antenna ports (). The receiver (&#x2032;) is adapted for reception of signals by means of a first uplink communication resource () and a second uplink communication resource () via the third set of antenna ports (), where each communication resource defines, or is associated with, a certain bandwidth.

Antenna system with efficient use of communication resources

A heterodyne receiver structure comprises a frequency conversion block arranged to convert an incoming analog radio frequency (RF) signal to an analog intermediate frequency (IF) signal; a filter block arranged to filter said analog IF signal; and an analog-to-digital (AD) converter block arranged to convert said filtered analog IF signal to a digital signal, wherein the AD converter block () is arranged to convert the filtered analog IF signal to the digital signal by using a sampling frequency (fs) which is at least N times a maximum bandwidth of the filtered analog IF signal, wherein the frequency spectrum from zero to the sampling frequency is divided into N frequency zones of equal width, wherein N is an even positive number higher than two; the frequency conversion block () is arranged to convert the incoming analog RF signal to the analog IF signal such that the analog IF signal is located in any of the N/2-1 frequency zones having lowest frequency; and the filter block (-) is arranged to low pass the analog IF signal such that any disturbing signal located in a zone, which would have a mirror image after the AD conversion in the zone, in which the analog IF signal is located, is filtered away, wherein the heterodyne receiver structure further comprises a digital signal processing block () arranged to filter said digital signal.
