The invention relates to a method in an electric power system including one or more power generation source(s) and a dynamic power compensator having a battery energy storage. The method includes the steps of: detecting a frequency disturbance within the electricity power system requiring an additional power generation source to be connected to the electricity power system in order to meet a power demand; and controlling the power output from the battery energy storage of the dynamic power compensator during start-up of the additional power generation source thereby limiting the frequency disturbance within the electric power system. The invention also relates to a controller, computer program, computer program products and electric power system.

The invention relates to a voltage source converter system, and includes a plane parallel bus bar assembly having conductor bars closely related for reducing induced voltage in the assembly. Each gap that is formed between adjacent conductor bars is completely filled by a polymer insulator which is formed for providing complete freedom of access to fully exposed external sides of the bus bar assembly. The invention also relates to a molded, single piece polymer insulator including an elongate rib member of continuous height and thickness, and elongate wing members angularly extended from each longitudinal periphery of the rib member.

Insulated bus bar assembly in a voltage source converter

A voltage-source converter is connected on its ac-voltage side to a three-phase electric power network via a transformer and on its dc-voltage side to capacitor equipment. The transformer has on its secondary side a first, a second, and a third phase winding, each one with a first and a second winding terminal. Resistor equipment is arranged at the transformer for limiting the current through the converter when connecting the transformer to the power network. The resistor equipment includes a first resistor, connected to the first winding terminal of the second phase winding, and switching equipment is adapted, in an initial position, to block current through the phase windings, in a transition position to form a current path which includes at least the first and the second phase windings and, in series therewith, the first resistor, which current path, when the converter is connected to the transformer, closes through the converter and the capacitor equipment, and, in an operating position, to interconnect all the first winding terminals for forming the common neutral point.
