A current measuring arrangement includes a first electrical conductor having a first resistance and a second electrical conductor switched in parallel and having a second, higher resistance, wherein both the first resistance and the second resistance are each below 0.1&#x3a9;. The arrangement further includes a hall sensor, which is prepared to measure a current through the second electrical conductor, and a calculation unit, which is connected to the hall sensor and which is designed to calculate a total current through the first electrical conductor and the second electrical conductor based on the current measured by the hall sensor. A switching device provides a comparable functionality.

A switch includes: at least one conducting line led through the switch; switching contacts arranged in the at least one conducting line; at least one measurement transformer arranged at the at least one conducting line; an electronic trip unit, a measurement-input of the electronic trip unit being electrically connected to a measurement transformer secondary winding of a measurement transformer; a power supply unit; at least one power transformer arranged at the at least one conducting line, the at least one power transformer including a power transformer secondary winding which is electrically connected to the power supply unit in order to supply the electronic trip unit; a signal generating unit for generating a test signal with at least a first predefined frequency, with an output of the signal generating unit being electrically connected to the power transformer secondary winding; and a self-test unit electrically connected to the measurement transformer secondary winding.

A valvetrain for an internal combustion engine of the type that has a combustion chamber, a moveable valve having a seat formed in the combustion chamber, and a camshaft includes a rocker arm assembly, a pivot providing a fulcrum for a rocker arm of the rocker arm assembly, and a latch assembly. An electrical device mounted to the rocker arm assembly receives power or communicates through a circuit that includes an electrical connection formed by abutment between surfaces of two distinct parts. The rocker arm assembly is operative to move one of the two abutting surfaces relative to the other in response to actuation of the cam follower. Forming an electrical connection through abutting surfaces that are free to undergo relative motion may reduce or eliminate the need to run wires to a mobile portion of the rocker arm assembly.
