A double wall plate heat exchanger () comprising a plurality of double wall plate heat exchanger elements () formed with a ridges (R) and grooves (G) providing contact points between neighboring heat exchanger elements () under formation of flow channels between them for fluids to exchange heat. The flow channels are in selective fluid communication with each other through port openings. Each of the heat exchanger elements () comprises at least two joined plates and leakage channels are formed between the plates of each heat exchanger element () for fluid leaking from a flow channel. The plates are provided with cooperating elevations () and indentations () forming leakage channels () extending across the ridges and grooves between the plates of each heat exchanger element (). At least one connecting space is formed between the plates to connect the leakage channels within the same heat exchanger element (), and each of the connecting spaces is connected to a leakage outlet.

Double wall plate heat exchanger

The present application relates to a stencil device () for simultaneous stencil printing of brazing material onto elevations, areas surrounding port openings, and a circumferential skirt () of a heat exchanger plate () wherein the stencil device () comprises an upper stencil having openings for applying brazing material to elevations and areas surrounding port openings of the heat exchanger plate () and a lower stencil printing stencil () having a large opening () for receiving the heat exchanger plate () and contacting an outer perimeter of the circumferential skirt () of the heat exchanger plate (), wherein an inner surface () of the large opening () comprises brazing material exits () for applying brazing material to the circumferential skirts (). A brazed plate heat exchanger () comprises an end plate () and a stack of heat exchanger plates (a,b) provided with a pattern comprising ridges (R) and grooves (G) adapted to form contact points () between neighboring heat exchanger plates such that the heat exchanger plates form interplate flow channels for media toexchange heat over the heat exchanger plates, the heat exchanger plates further being provided with port openings (O-O) for selective fluid communication with the flow channels, wherein the port openings are surrounded by port opening areas () for sealing against a corresponding port opening area of a neighbouring heat exchanger plate, wherein neighboring heat exchanger plates are connected by brazing joints at said contact points (), wherein the end plate () is provided with port openings (O-O) and flat areas () around the port openings in a common plane, wherein a plurality of ridges (R) of the heat exchanger plates, in an area overlapping any of said flat areas () of the end plate (), are formed with an indentation ().

Heat exchanger with indentations for avoiding stagnant media

A plate heat exchanger () includes a plurality of heat exchanger plates () provided with a pressed pattern adapted to provide contact points keeping the heat exchanger plates on a distance from one another such that interplate flow channels are formed between said plates, said heat exchanger being provided with interplate flow 5 channels (--) for a first medium exchanging heat with a second medium in interplate flow channels (-) and a third medium in interplate flow channels (-), wherein the interplate flow channels are in selective fluid communication with port openings () for the first medium, the second medium and the third medium. The heat exchanger () comprises first and second integrated suction gas heat exchanger sections (ISGHX, ISGHX) provided in the vicinity of port openings () for the second medium and third medium. Every other heat exchanger plate is formed with a pressed first pattern of ridges and grooves, and the other heat exchanger plates are formed with a pressed second pattern of ridges and grooves, wherein the first pattern of ridges and grooves is different from 15 the second pattern of ridges and grooves.

Plate heat exchanger

A refrigeration system includes a compressor for compressing a gaseous refrigerant, such that the temperature and pressure thereof increases; a four-way valve controlling whether the refrigeration system is in a heating mode or a cooling mode; a condenser, in which the gaseous refrigerant from the compressor exchanges heat with a high temperature heat carrier, said heat exchange resulting in the refrigerant condensing; an expansion valve reducing the pressure of liquid refrigerant from the condenser, hence reducing the boiling point of the refrigerant; an evaporator, in which the low boiling point refrigerant exchanges heat with a low temperature heat carrier, such that the refrigerant vaporizes; and a suction gas heat exchanger exchanging heat between high temperature liquid refrigerant from the condenser and low temperature gaseous refrigerant from the evaporator. A balance valve is arranged for controlling the amount of heat exchange between the high temperature liquid refrigerant and the low temperature gaseous refrigerant in the suction gas heat exchanger by directing a flow of high temperature liquid refrigerant directly from the condenser to the expansion valve. Disclosed is also a method for controlling such a system.

Refrigeration system and a method for controlling such a refrigeration system

A brazed plate heat exchanger () for exchanging heat between at least two fluids comprises several elongate heat exchanger plates () provided with a pressed pattern comprising depressions and elevations adapted to keep the plates on a distance from one another by contact points between the elevations and depressions of neighboring plates under formation of interplate flow channels for media to exchange heat. At least four port openings are placed in corner regions of the elongate heat exchanger plates and have selective fluid communication with the interplate flow channels such that the fluids to exchange heat will flow between port openings parallel to long sides of the elongate heat exchanger plates. A circumferential seal sealing off the interplate flow channels from communication with the surroundings is provided, and the heat exchanger plates are joined by brazing. The circumferential seal results partly from contact between skirts of neighboring plates contacting one another, said skirts extending at least partly along two sides of each heat exchanger plates, and partly from contact between flat areas extending along two other sides of the heat exchanger plates.

Heat exchanger

A brazing material for brazing a brazed plate heat exchanger comprising a number of heat exchanger plates being provided with a pressed pattern of ridges and grooves adapted to provide contact points between neighbouring heat exchanger plates, such that the heat exchanger plates are kept on a distance from one another and such that interplate flow channels for media to exchange heat are formed between the heat exchanger plates comprises a brazing alloy comprising at least one melting point depressing element and metals resembling the composition of the heat exchanger plates. The brazing material comprises a mixture between grains of a melting brazing material having solidus and liquidus temperatures lower than a brazing temperature and a non-melting brazing material having solidus and liquidus temperatures above the brazing temperature. The ratio between the melting and non-melting brazing materials is such that an alloy formed by the melting and non-melting brazing materials has a solidus temperature lower than the brazing temperature and a liquidus temperature higher than the brazing temperature.

Brazing material

A brazed plate heat exchanger comprises a number of heat exchanger plates () provided with a pressed pattern comprising ridges (R) and grooves (G). The ridges and grooves of neighboring plates contact one another in order to keep the plates on a distance from one another under formation of interplate flow channels for media to exchange heat when the heat exchanger plates are placed in a stack to form the heat exchanger. Means () are provided for allowing temperature measurement of a fluid present in a second flow channel counted from an end of the stack of heat exchanger plates ().

Means for sensing temperature

A reversible refrigeration system including a compressor arranged to compress gaseous refrigerant, a four-way valve switchable between a heating position in which a payload is heated and a cooling position in which the payload is cooled. A payload heat exchanger is connected to the payload requiring heating or cooling, and a dump heat exchanger, two one-way valves, and two controllable expansion valves as well, wherein the one-way valves each are connected parallel to a corresponding expansion valve, wherein switching of the four-way valve between the heating position and the cooling position controls a flow of pressurized refrigerant to either of the payload heat exchanger or the dump heat exchanger and wherein the heat exchanger which receives the flow of pressurized refrigerant functions as a condenser and the other heat exchanger functions as an evaporator.

Refrigeration system

A brazed plate heat exchanger () comprises a number of heat exchanger plates (--) provided with a pressed pattern of ridges (R) and grooves (G) adapted to keep the plates on a distance from one another by providing contact points between crossing ridges (R) and grooves (G) of neighbouring plates under formation of interplate flow channels for media to exchange heat, said interplate flow channels being in selective fluid communication with first, second, third and fourth large port openings (OOOO) and first and second small port openings (SOSO) for letting in fluids to exchange heat, characterized in that fluid passing between the first and second large port openings (OO) exchanges heat with fluids passing between third and fourth port openings (OO) over a first heat exchanging portion of each plate and fluid passing between the first and second small port openings (SOSO) over a second portion of each plate.

Heat exchanger having an integrated suction gas heat exchanger

A plate heat exchanger () comprises a number of plates () provided with a pressed pattern of ridges (R) and grooves (G) arranged to keep the plates () on a distance from one another under formation of interplate flow channels for media to exchange heat. The interplate flow channels communicate with port openings (A, B, C,) being in selective communication with said interplate flow channels, one of the port openings () providing for connection to a downstream side of an expansion valve (EXP) such that coolant from the expansion valve (EXP) may enter the interplate flow channels communicating with the one port opening (). A heat exchanging means (; HEP, LC, DP) is provided inside the one port opening (), said heat exchanging means (; HEP, LC, DP) being arranged for exchanging heat between coolant downstream the expansion valve (EXP) and coolant about to enter the expansion valve (EXP).

Port opening with supercooling

An evaporator for an absorption heat pump or a single coolant cooling process comprises a number of stacked plates provided with a pressed pattern to hold the plates on a distance from one another to form a heat exchanging strip, vapor leading spaces and outer walls, the heat exchanging strip being designed such that flow channels are formed by internal surfaces of the strip, said flow channels connecting a heat carrier inlet and a heat carrier outlet, wherein a coolant forms a falling film on external surfaces of the heat carrier channels by being provided above the heat carrier channels by a coolant inlet, wherein coolant being vaporized from the external surfaces by heat from a heat carrier flowing from the inlet to the outlet rapidly enters the vapor leading spaces. The vapor leading spaces are provided between the heat exchanging strip and the outer walls.

Evaporation and absorption unit

A combined evaporator and condenser () is manufactured from a number of stacked heat exchanger plates () provided with a pressed pattern of ridges and grooves for keeping the plates on a distance from one another for creating interplate flow channels (). The evaporator portion () of the combined evaporator and condenser () has a coolant outlet connectable to an expansion valve (R), and a connection between the condenser portion and the expansion valve (R) runs through the evaporator portion.
