A well logging instrument deployment device according to this aspect of the invention includes a housing configured to be coupled to a pipe string. A latch disposed in the housing and is configured to retain a well logging instrument in a first longitudinal position inside the pipe string. An actuator is configured to release the latch to enable longitudinal movement of the well logging instrument inside the pipe string. A signal detector is operatively coupled to the actuator and is the configured to detect a command signal for operating the actuator.

Method and apparatus for pipe-conveyed well logging

An apparatus, a system and a method for motion compensation use wired drill pipe to transmit downhole measurements from downhole tools to the surface. The wired drill pipe may transmit control signals from a terminal located at the surface to the downhole tools. In response to the control signals, a motion compensation component may enable the drill string to compensate for motion, such as, for example, heave. The motion compensation component may change a length of the drill string. A downhole tool having arms may be connected to the drill string and the wired drill pipe. The control signals may direct the downhole tool to move between an extended position and a retracted position.

Apparatus, system and method for motion compensation using wired drill pipe

A method and apparatus for fishing a wellbore with wired drill pipe are provided. Embodiments of the invention advantageously identify objects for removal and signal proper attachment therewith. In an embodiment, a method of fishing with wired drill pipe comprising attaching a fishing apparatus to the end of a wired drill pipe string, extending the wired drill pipe string into a wellbore, monitoring signals received through the wired drill pipe string from one or more sensors coupled to the fishing apparatus, and determining proper coupling of the fishing apparatus with one or more objects intended for removal based on the signals received from the sensors is provided.
