The disclosure relates to a method of producing a blank () of thermosealable and creased packaging laminate for a microwave-friendly packaging container, comprising the steps of: (a) advancing a continuous web () of a base laminate () in a conversion line for the packaging laminate so that continuous blanks for said packaging containers are oriented with their top-to-bottom direction transversely of the machine direction of the conversion line and with a top-to-bottom interface (), (b) providing said base laminate () with creases and cutting into said blanks () of the packaging laminate, a continuous strip () of a material which conducts heat and electricity being applied in the machine direction in a region over said top-to-top/bottom interface () and in conjunction with step (a), and an elongate opening indication () being provided, before or after the application of the strip () so that the opening indication is positioned within the region of said strip. The disclosure also relates to a thus produced blank, as well as a packaging container which is formed using such a blank as the point of departure.

The present invention relates to a method of heating a package, comprising the steps of: placing a number of packages in a retort, pressurising the retort to a first pressure by the supply of a gaseous pressurisation medium of low moisture content, supplying a heating medium for heating the package and the product packed in the package, raising, in connection with the supply of the heating medium, the pressure in the retort to a second pressure, and, during the final phase of the heat-treatment, reducing the pressure in the retort in such a manner that the pressure of the product packed in the package is higher than or equal to the pressure prevailing in the retort outside the package.

The disclosure relates to a packaging laminate for a retortable packaging container comprising a core layer (), outer, liquid-tight coatings (and) and a gas barrier () disposed between the one coating () and the core layer (). Between the gas barrier () and the core layer (), there is a layer () of a lamination or sealing agent of such a nature that the lamination or sealing agent has a melting point which is higher than the maximum temperature to which the retortable packaging container is to be subjected during a normal heat treatment in a retort. The lamination or sealing agent in the layer () may, for example, be a polypropylene with a melting point of above 130&#xb0; C.

A container is manufactured by means of folding and sealing, and is intended to be used in extremely humid conditions, such as in an autoclave or in a cooling tunnel. The container has at least one liquid absorbing layer and all the cut edges of the container are protected.

Method for producing a packaging laminate with barrier properties

A package container fabricated from plastic-coated packaging material includes an upper end wall and a sealing fin that extends across the upper end wall of the container. The sealing fin includes mutually facing material layers between which is located an opening strip. The opening strip includes an inner layer positioned between outer layers that are sealed to plastic coatings of the packaging material, and an intermediate layer positioned between the inner layer and each of the outer layers. The intermediate layer is fabricated from a material whose properties are such that the adhesive bonding strength between all material layers of the opening strip and between the outer layers of the opening strip and the plastic coating of the packaging material is greater than the internally cohesive bonding strength of the intermediate layer.
