An optical sensing module has a light source and an optical sensing integrated circuit device. The optical sensing integrated circuit device has an optical sensor and a grating. The optical sensor and the light source are arranged along a first direction. The grating is formed over the optical sensor and has multiple parallel wires. The multiple wires are perpendicular to the first direction.

Optical sensing module

A complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor depth sensor element having a photogate formed in a photosensitive area on a substrate. A first transfer gate and a second transfer gate are formed respectively on two sides of the photogate in intervals. A first floating doped area and a second floating doped area are formed respectively on the outer sides of the first transfer gate and the second transfer gate. A semiconductor area is formed on the substrate. A lightly doped region is formed on the semiconductor area. The photogate, the first and second transfer gates and the first and second floating doped area are commonly formed on the lightly doped region. With the lightly doped region, the linear performance that the majority carriers move in the photogate is also affected to achieve the purpose for increasing the reaction rate.

Complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor depth sensor element

A method for determining non-contact gesture is applied to a device for the same. The device has an image sensor to detect an image sensing data, an inertial measurement sensor to detect an inertial sensing data, and a processor to determine if an object data is detected and to determine if an inertial event is occurred. The image sensing data in the same and/or adjacent image frame with the inertial events are excluded so that the image sensing data used to determine the gesture are those not influenced by the inertial events. Therefore, the accuracy of determining the gesture is enhanced.

Method for determining non-contact gesture and device for the same

A method for sensing depth of an object in three-dimensional space a Time-Of-Flight Sensing procedure and a Proximity-Sensing procedure are respectively operated in the same one period of time. The obtained information of the two procedures are manipulated to acquire the depth information of the measured object. With the result of the Time-Of-Flight Sensing procedure having high accuracy and the result of the Proximity-Sensing procedure having high resolution, the acquired depth information of the measured object is more precise.

Non-contact optical sensing device and method for sensing depth of an object in three-dimensional space

A complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor depth sensor element comprises a photogate formed in a photosensitive area on a substrate. A first transfer gate and a second transfer gate are formed respectively on two sides of the photogate in intervals. A first floating doped area and a second floating doped area are formed respectively on the outer sides of the first transfer gate and the second transfer gate. The first and second floating doped regions have dopants of a first polarity and the semiconductor area has dopants of a second polarity opposite to the first polarity. Since the photogate and at least parts of the first and second transfer gates connect to the same semiconductor area and no other dopants of polarity opposite to the second polarity. Therefore, the majority carriers from the photogate excited by lights drift, but not diffuse, to transfer to the first and second transfer gates.

An optical sensor module is provided. The optical sensor module includes a light source, a first lens and a sensor device. The light source is arranged for generating a light signal. The first lens has a first optical center axis. The sensor device is disposed in correspondence with one side of the first lens. The sensor device includes a light sensitive area, and a center of the light sensitive area deviates from the first optical center axis. The sensor device is arranged for receiving a reflected signal reflected from an object in response to the light signal, and accordingly generating a sensing result.

Optical sensor module utilizing optical designs to adjust gesture sensitive region, and related mobile apparatus

A three-dimensional image sensing device includes a light source, a sensing module, and a signal processing module. The sensing module includes a pixel array, a control unit, and a light source driver. The light source generates flashing light with a K multiple of a frequency of flicker noise or a predetermined frequency. The pixel array samples the flashing light to generate a sampling result. The control unit executes an image processing on the sampling result to generate a spectrum. The light source driver drives the light source according to the K multiple of the frequency or the predetermined frequency. The signal processing module generates the K multiple of the frequency according to the spectrum, or outputs the predetermined frequency to the light source driver, and generates depth information according to a plurality of first images/a plurality of second images during turning-on/turning-off of the light source included in the sampling result.

Three-dimensional image sensing device and method of sensing three-dimensional images

A control method of an electronic apparatus is provided. The electronic apparatus has a non-contact gesture sensitive region. The control method includes: identifying at least one object type of at least one non-contact object within the non-contact gesture sensitive region in a plurality of object types; determining respective numbers of non-contact objects corresponding to the identified at least one object type; detecting motion information of the at least one non-contact object within the non-contact gesture sensitive region; recognizing a non-contact gesture corresponding to the at least one non-contact object according to the identified at least one object type, the respective numbers of non-contact objects and the motion information; and enabling the electronic apparatus to perform a specific function according to the non-contact gesture.

Control method of electronic apparatus having non-contact gesture sensitive region

An optical sensor apparatus includes an infrared light generating device, N first detection devices, a second detection device and a processing circuit. In addition to detecting infrared light, the N first detection devices further detect N different visible wavelength ranges, respectively. The second detection device is optically shielded from visible light and arranged for detecting infrared light. In a first sensing mode, the processing circuit obtains color information according to N first detection signals generated by the N first detection devices and a reference signal generated by the second detection device. In a second sensing mode, the N first detection devices and the second detection device generate (N+1) second detection signals when the infrared light generating device is activated, and generate (N+1) third detection signals when the infrared light generating device is deactivated. The processing circuit recognizes gesture information according to the (N+1) second and the (N+1) third detection signals.

Optical sensor apparatus and image sensing apparatus integrating multiple functions

An optical sensing apparatus includes M light emitting devices, N sensing devices, a control circuit and a processing circuit. M is a positive integer, and N is an integer greater than or equal to 3. The control circuit is arranged for controlling activation and deactivation of the M light emitting devices, and controlling each sensing device to detect a reflected signal reflected from an object when a corresponding light emitting device is activated in order to generate a sensing result corresponding to the sensing device. The N sensing devices generate N sensing results in response to the M light emitting devices. The processing circuit is arranged for calculating position information of the object according to at least the N sensing results and N sensing positions of the N sensing devices, wherein the N sensing positions define at least one geometric plane.

Optical sensing apparatus and method for detecting object near optical sensing apparatus

A control method of an electronic apparatus includes the following steps: detecting a touch sensing event to generate a touch detection result; detecting a non-touch sensing event to generate a non-touch detection result; and enabling the electronic apparatus to perform a specific function according to at least the touch detection result and the non-touch detection result. An electronic apparatus includes a touch detection unit, a non-touch detection unit and a control unit. Electronic apparatus having touch sensing ability and non-touch sensing ability and control method thereof

An integrated proximity and light sensor includes a first light-emitting device, a second light-emitting device, and a light sensing circuit configured as a single package. The light sensing circuit is configured to control the first light-emitting device and the second light-emitting device to emit light therefrom. Further, the light sensing circuit is configured to detect an ambient light level and to detect a reflection of the light emitted by the first light-emitting device from a surface for proximity detection. The light sensing circuit is also configured to control the second light-emitting device to stop emitting light therefrom for one or more of the ambient light level detection and the proximity detection.

An integrated proximity and light sensor includes an indicating light-emitting device ('ILD'), a projecting light-emitting device ('PLD'), and a light sensing integrated circuit (&#x201c;LSIC&#x201d;) configured as a single package. A circuit for implementing an ambient light sensing mode and a proximity sensing mode includes a light sensor, a light source, and a controller coupled to the light sensor and the light source. The controller is configured to process outputs from the light sensor before and after the light source is energized to obtain an ambient light level output and to compare the ambient light level output with an output from the light sensor when the light source is energized to implement the proximity sensing mode.
