Spoolable RFID-enabled wristbands with maximized read range. In an embodiment, a wristband comprises flexible material formed into a flag portion and a strap portion. The flag portion comprises a radio-frequency identification (RFID) inlay embedded within the material. The strap portion extends from the flag portion, and is perforated in a line along a longitudinal axis of the wristband from a distal end of the strap portion that is distal to the flag portion to a hole at a proximal end of the strap portion that is proximal to the flag portion, such that the strap portion may be torn, from the distal end to the hole at the proximal end, along the perforated line, into two sections of substantially equal dimension, which each extend from the flag portion.

Spoolable small-form-factor RFID-enabled wristband

A securement device () secures a medical article () to the body of a patient and prevents longitudinal movement of the medical article () relative to the securement device (). The securement device () includes a base portion () that is disposed over at least a part of a securement piece (). The securement piece () forms a channel () configured to receive at least a portion of the medical article (). The device () includes at least one actuator (). The at least one actuator () is coupled with the securement piece () and configured to move the securement piece () between open position and a closed position. When the securement piece () is in the open position, it can receive at least a portion of the medical article (). When the securement piece () is in the closed position, it prevents the received medical article () from moving in the longitudinal direction relative to the securement device (). In some embodiments the securement piece () has engagement members () extending from the inner surface of the securement piece (). In an embodiment, the securement device () includes an opening () that receives an outwardly extending member of the medical article ().

Medical article securement device

A universal device for securing a catheter on a patient includes a base which optionally has one or more locating elements for positioning or securing a catheter or catheter fitting of various shapes or sizes. The base optionally includes a recessed or flat receiving area defined by locating elements arranged to hold or receive a catheter or catheter fitting. Additional locating elements may be positioned elsewhere for receiving or holding a flange or wing of a catheter fitting. A cover is removably or permanently connected to the base and may optionally have one or more top openings for receiving tabs or extensions of a catheter fitting. The cover may optionally include one or more capture ridges for restraining a catheter or catheter fitting of various shapes or sizes on the base or on the retention plate. The cover may also include one or more tabs or contact bars.

Universal catheter securement device

A medical article securement device holds a medical article such as a catheter in position upon the body of a patient and at least inhibits longitudinal movement of the medical article. The securement device includes a retainer, a pair of hinged actuators, and a pair of engagement members coupled with the hinged actuators. Movement of the actuators causes the engagement members to grip at least a portion of a medical article placed within the retainer so as to inhibit longitudinal movement of the medical article with respect to the retainer. The shape of the retainer inhibits lateral and transverse movement of the medical article with respect to a patient's skin.

Medical article securement system

A universal device for securing a catheter on a patient includes a base which optionally has one or more locating elements for positioning or securing a catheter or catheter fitting of various shapes or sizes. The base optionally includes a recessed or flat receiving area defined by locating elements arranged in any configuration suitable to hold or receive a catheter or catheter fitting, e.g., in a tapering or V shaped formation. Additional locating elements may be positioned elsewhere on the base for receiving or holding a flange or wing of a catheter fitting and preventing its movement in various directions. The base optionally has an angled surface to maintain the desired angle for catheters or catheter fittings in a patient. A cover is removably or permanently connected to the base and may optionally have one or more top openings for receiving tabs or extensions of a catheter fitting.
