An antifouling condensation curing organopolysiloxane composition is prepared by premixing a part or all of (A) a diorganopolysiloxane free of a reactive group with a part or all of (B) silica to form a premix, then mixing the premix with the remainder of (A) and (B), (C) a base diorganopolysiloxane, and (D) a silane. The composition has a good balance of low viscosity and high thixotropy, can be thickly coated in a single pass, and cures into a coating having rubber strength and surface smoothness and exhibiting satisfactory antifouling property over a long period of time.

Antibacterial, mildew resistant organopolysiloxane compositions

An antibacterial and mildewproofing organopolysiloxane composition comprising (A) an organopolysiloxane such as polydimethylsiloxane terminated with silanol groups or polydimethylsiloxane terminated with trimethylsiloxyl groups, (B) a hydrolyzable silane compound and/or a partial hydrolysis-condensation product thereof, (C) a triazolyl-group-containing compound such as tebuconazole and (D) an inorganic antibacterial agent comprising an inorganic substance comprising zeolite, apatite and/or silica and supporting or containing silver and/or silver ions. This composition is superior in antibacterial properties, mildew resistance and permanence of mildew resistance and also superior in weatherability such as heat resistance and ultraviolet light resistance, may cause less change in color, and is useful as a sealing medium.

Antibacterial and mildewproofing organopolysiloxane composition

A mildew resistant organopolysiloxane composition is provided, including (A) an organopolysiloxane having silanol groups or alkoxyl groups, (B) a hydrolyzable silane, and (C) a triazolyl group-containing compound. The composition further includes (D) bis(2-pyridylthio-1-oxide) zinc salt. The composition is excellent in mildew resistance and its durability as well as excellent in heat resistance and weathering properties. The cured products hardly undergo discoloration if exposed to UV light or heat. The composition is useful as a sealant to be used at wet locations.

Mildew resistant organopolysiloxane compositions

A room temperature curable mildew resistant organopolysiloxane composition comprises (A) a hydroxyl or hydrolyzable group-containing organopolysiloxane, (B) a hydrolyzable organosilane such as methyltrimethoxysilane, methyltris(methylethylketoxime silane) or vinyltris(methylethylketoxime silane), a partially hydrolyzed product thereof or a mixture of the hydrolyzable organosilane with the partially hydrolyzed product thereof; and (C) a triazolyl group-containing compound such as 2-(4-chlorophenyl)ethyl-.alpha.-(1,1-dimethylethyl)-1H-1,2,4-triazole-1-yl -ethanol. Preferably, the component (B) does not contain aliphatic unsaturation in the molecule, and in this case, the component (B) free of aliphatic unsaturation is used in combination with (B') a hydrolyzable silane such as tetrakis(dimethylketoxime)silane, a partially hydrolyzed product thereof or a mixture of the hydrolyzable silane and the partially hydrolyzed product thereof.
