A hydrogenated norbornene ring-open polymer obtained by hydrogenating 80% or more of main-chain carbon-carbon double bonds of a ring-open polymer obtained by ring-opening polymerization of 2-norbornene. The hydrogenated norbornene ring-open polymer has a weight average molecular weight determined by gel permeation chromatography (GPC) of 50,000 to 200,000, a molecular weight distribution of 1.5 to 10.0, and a melting point of 110 to 145&#xb0; C. A hydrogenated norbornene ring-open polymer obtained by hydrogenating 80% or more of carbon-carbon double bonds of a ring-open polymer obtained by ring-opening copolymerization of 2-norbornene and a substituent-containing norbornene monomer, wherein the proportion of a repeating unit (A) derived from the 2-norbornene with respect to all repeating units is 90 to 99 wt % and the proportion of a repeating unit (B) derived from the substituent-containing norbornene monomer with respect to all repeating units is 1 to 10 wt %. Hydrogenated norbornene-based ring-opening polymerization polymer, resin composition, and molded object

A polymer composition includes (1) a crystalline norbornene-based polymer and (2) an amorphous alicyclic structure-containing polymer in a weight ratio of 90:10 to 50:50, the crystalline norbornene-based polymer (1) having a melting point of 110 to 145&#xb0; C., an Mw measured by gel permeation chromatography of 50,000 to 200,000, and a ratio Mw/Mn of 1.5 to 10.0, and obtained by ring-opening polymerization of a polymerizable monomer mixture (1) containing 90 to 100 wt % of 2-norbornene and 0 to 10 wt % of a substituent-containing norbornene monomer, and hydrogenating the resulting polymer, and the amorphous alicyclic structure-containing polymer (2) having a Tg of 50&#xb0; C. or more and not having a melting point, and obtained by polymerization of a polymerizable monomer mixture (2) containing a 2-norbornene compound and a dicyclopentadiene compound in an amount of 50 wt % or more and less than 90 wt % in total. A film obtained by molding the polymer composition has a steam permeability of 0.40 g/m&#xb7;day or less and a haze value of 20% or less when the film has a thickness of 100 &#x3bc;m. A medical container is obtained by molding the polymer composition.

Polymer composition and use thereof

A toner for development of electrostatic images, comprising colored particles containing at least a binder resin, a colorant and a softening agent, wherein the softening agent is an organic compound having a molecular weight of at least 1,000, a solubility of at least 5 g in 100 g of styrene as measured at 25&deg; C., and an acid value of at most 10 mg KOH/g. The toner is excellent in fixing ability, shelf stability and flowability and permits forming images having high image quality. A production process thereof is also provided.
