At least one annular wall into which a ferrule for an optical fiber cable is adapted to be inserted is provided in the housing and exposed to the exterior. A protective frame wall is provided on the housing so as to project higher than the annular wall The frame wall is so arranged as to surround the annular wall and projected upwardly and downwardly from both top and bottom sides of the housing A top wall for mounting a ferrule locking member is formed integrally with the annular wall and the top wall is positioned at the same height as the frame wall and continued from the frame wall. There may be arranged a pair of the annular walls in parallel in proximity to each other. A receiving trunk in a mating housing continued to a light converting element is adapted to be inserted into the annular wall and the ferrule is adapted to be inserted into the receiving trunk.

Optical connector

An optical connector capable of reducing labor for mounting it onto a substrate member is provided. A receptacle as an optical connector is fixed to a printed circuit board . The printed circuit board has a slit . The receptacle has a housing , optical receiving/transmitting devices are accommodated in the housing , and earthing terminals . The housing has a conductive base material and an insulation film formed over a surface of the base material. The housing has an earthing terminal press-fit portion . The terminal is pressedly into the slit of the earthing terminal press-fit portion . When the earthing terminal is pressedly inserted into the earthing terminal press-fit portion , the earthing terminal removes the insulation film from the surface of the slit and is put into contact with the base material.

An electric junction box in which electric power is distributed to electric parts or devices, mounted on an upper side of a part-mounting floor portion of an upper case, through bus bars mounted on a lower side of the part-mounting floor portion. In the electric junction box, a peripheral wall of an upper case has a heat-radiating wall portion which projects upwardly beyond the position of mounting of the electric parts on the part-mounting floor portion of the upper case. The heat-radiating wall portion has a bus bar installation space of a slit-like cross-section which is open to the lower surface of the part-mounting floor portion, and receives the connecting plate of the bus bar.

Electric junction box

A waterproof casing including a casing body which has a substantial box-shape and a lid which openably closes an open portion of the casing body. The casing body end the lid include respective first peripheral walls butted against each other to thereby prevent the intrusion of water into a receiving space for electrical parts, and also include respective second peripheral walls which are spaced outwardly from the first peripheral walls to form a space around the first peripheral walls, and are butted against each other, so that each of the joint portion between the first peripheral walls and the joint portion between the second peripheral walls forms a waterproof structure which limits the intrusion of water. The two joint portions are offset from each other in a vertical direction, and drain holes are formed through a bottom portion of the second peripheral wall of the casing body so as to reduce the pressure of a high-pressure water stream within the space and also to discharge the water from the space.
