In a plasma processing method making use of a plasma processing gas of a reactant gas and an inert gas, it is aimed at enhancing an efficiency of use of high-frequency power and a reactant gas to increase a processing rate. The plasma processing method comprises supplying high frequency power to an electrodeopposed to a substrateto thereby generate plasma between the electrodeand the substrateon the basis of a plasma processing gas comprising a reactant gas and an inert gas to perform film formation, etching, surface treatment or the like on the substrate, pressure P(Torr) of the plasma processing gas being set to satisfy the following relationship 2&#xd7;10(Torr/Hz)&#xd7;f(Hz)&#x2266;P(Torr)&#x2266;500(Torr) where f(Hz) is a frequency of high frequency power.

Plasma processing method

An imaging apparatus reduces the influence of the movement of hands and of the motion of an object on a high resolution picture image. Picture image light from the object passes through an optical system and light-transmitting domains of a color filter provided at the light incident side of an imaging device. The light-transmitting domains transmit only predetermined chromatic lights of the picture image light to input to corresponding photo-receiving domains of the imaging device. The imaging device is a two-picture element mixed reading type device. In a high resolution mode, an image forming point of the picture image light is moved to two places in parallel, and the picture image light is formed at each image forming point to image the picture image light. Then, the signal processing circuit combines the two original picture image signals whose image forming points during the imaging operation are different to generate a single output picture image signal. Thereby, an equivalent imaging time in imaging a single output picture image may be shortened.

A method for treating a surface of a sample using plasma, including the steps of placing the sample in a predetermined atmosphere, locally supplying a reaction gas from a reaction gas supply portion to a vicinity of the sample, providing a wall surface opposed to the sample, providing a gas flow path having a low conductance from the reaction gas supply portion to the atmosphere, and locally forming a high-pressure reaction gas region having a pressure higher than the atmosphere in the gas flow path having a low conductance, and generating locally high-pressure plasma based on the reaction gas in the high-pressure reaction gas region; and subjecting the sample to surface treatment using an active seed in the high-pressure plasma.

An image recording apparatus includes a heating portion and a granulating portion to generate colorant particles, a charging portion to charge the generated colorant particles, an ejecting portion to intermittently eject the charged colorant particles onto a recording medium in response to an electrical signal corresponding to image data to be recorded, and a transport portion to sequentially transport the colorant particles through these portions. The heating portion heats and evaporates solid or liquid colorant. The evaporated colorant is transported to the granulating portion, cooled, solidified and agglomerated into colorant particles. The colorant particles are transported to the succeeding charging portion, charged there and transported to the ejecting portion. The charged colorant particles are electrically induced toward a recording medium through an ejection hole and ejected onto a recording medium, so that the colorant particles stick and permeates to the medium according to image data.

A cleaning apparatus in accordance with the present invention includes a first inflow section, provided on a first side surface of a cleaning tank having a substantially rectangular parallelopiped shape, having two inflow openings, a second inflow section, provided on a second side surface facing the first side surface, having inflow openings, and outflow openings for releasing a cleaning liquid flown in from the first and second inflow sections. The cleaning liquid flowing in from the inflow openings forms complex and strong flows in the cleaning tank, thus removing contaminants on a cleaning target evenly and efficiently without nonuniformity and preventing stagnation of the cleaning liquid in the cleaning tank. The cleaning liquid released in filtered by a circulatory section and is allowed to flow into the cleaning tank again through a pipe. As a result, it is possible to clean evenly and efficiently a large cleaning target such as a glass substrate used for liquid crystal display devices and other devices.

Cleaning method and cleaning apparatus

An imaging apparatus includes a solid-state imaging element having a matrix of pixels thereon, an optical series for entering a subject image into the solid-state imaging element, and an image shifting mechanism for relatively shifting the subject image in 2-D with respect to the solid-state imaging element. A control circuit is further included for controlling an operation of the image shifting mechanism. Still further, an image synthesizing circuit is included for synthesizing a plurality of images shifted by the image shifting mechanism, along with a moving amount detecting unit for detecting a moving amount of the subject image on the solid-state imaging element. Finally, the imaging apparatus includes a shift amount generating unit for generating an image shift amount for the subject image first, and thence a correction image shift amount based on the image shift amount and moving amount, based on which the image shifting mechanism shifts the subject image. The above arrangement makes it possible to correct a movement of the subject image formed by the imaging apparatus, thereby realizing a high-resolution image.

A cleaning apparatus and method in accordance with the present invention includes a first inflow section, provided on a first side surface of a cleaning tank having a substantially rectangular parallelopiped shape, having two inflow openings, a second inflow section, provided on a second side surface facing the first side surface, having inflow openings, and outflow openings for releasing a cleaning liquid flown in from the first and second inflow sections. The cleaning liquid flowing in from the inflow openings forms complex and strong flows in the cleaning tank, thus removing contaminants on a cleaning target evenly and efficiently without nonuniformity and preventing stagnation of the cleaning liquid in the cleaning tank. The cleaning liquid released in filtered by a circulatory section and is allowed to flow into the cleaning tank again through a pipe. Method of cleaning a substrate in a cleaning tank using plural fluid

A single imaging apparatus is adapted to pick up both a motion image and a still image. In an imaging apparatus 1, image light from an object is separated into multiple monochromatic image light components by an optical system 3 and then imaged by an imaging means 4 for generation of an original image signal. The imaging apparatus 1 switches an imaging mode depending upon an output mode. The optical system 3 switches the sate of a variable spatial filter 18 depending upon an imaging mode thereby changing an effect for limiting the spatial frequency. In an output mode for motion images, an interpolative synthesizer circuit 7 generates the output image signal from a single original image signal. In an output mode for still image, an image shift mechanism 19 parallely shifts the optical axis of the incoming image light while the imaging means captures the original image light multiple times so that an output image is produced from these original image signals. An amount of attenuation of the filter 18 in the output mode for motion images is greater than that for an equivalent spatial frequency component in the output mode for still image.

Imaging apparatus having a spatial filter and image shifting mechanism

An image forming apparatus including a rotatably driven transfer drum is provided. The transfer drum includes a main body and a dynamic vibration reducer. The dynamic vibration reducer includes an inertia pipe having an inertial moment, and at least one element connecting the inertia pipe to the interior of the main body so as to provide a spring-like property and a damping property therebetween. The apparatus dynamically reduces vibrations in a predetermined frequency band, such as that of the natural frequency of a specific gear, or the natural frequencies of an entire drive mechanism. In particular, the apparatus reduces vibratory peaks generated during the operation of the image forming apparatus.

A driving circuit for generating a motor driving voltage has a positive feedback loop for feeding back the motor driving voltage through a filter. The filter is arranged so as to have a transfer function given as G.sub.F (s) which (1) satisfies G.sub.F (s).apprxeq.1 in a frequency band in which disturbances should be suppressed while (2) satisfies .vertline.G.sub.F (s).vertline.&lt;.vertline.G.sub.open .vertline. in a full range of frequencies, where G.sub.open represents an open loop transfer function of a motor control device in which a positive feedback loop is not provided. With this arrangement, it is possible to suppress disturbances, irrelevant to motor characteristics which may vary. Besides, it is possible to provide a motor control device in which computations for disturbance compensation are considerably decreased.

An image inputting apparatus which allows inputting of an image with a first resolution and another image with a second resolution higher than the first resolution which is provided by increasing the first resolution by image-shifting means, and which is designed to perform moire removal with minimal power consumption in such a manner that moire-removing means is activated to remove the moire when moire-detecting means judges that a moire is present, whereas the moire-removing means is deactivated when it is judged that no moire is present.

Featured is a magnetic drum assembly including a rotary drum supporting a magnetic head for recording/reproducing information on a magnetic tape and a stationary drum secured to a base of a magnetic recording/reproducing device. In one aspect of the invention, the stationary drum is molded from a resin material together with a metal material partially embedded and partially exposed and being secured at the exposed part of the metal to the base of the magnetic recording/ reproducing device. In another aspect of the invention, the rotary drum is molded from a resin material together with a metal material partially embedded and partially exposed and the magnetic head is secured at the exposed part of the metal of the rotary drum. Such a drum assembly is advantageous in that it is capable of maintaining an initial accuracy of its sizes and shape without deterioration in its mechanical properties over time due to creep deformation and internal stress.

An actuator moves a signal reproducing element based on an applied control input. An error detector detects a difference in relative position between a desired track and the signal reproducing element. A drive circuit computes the input valuable applied to the actuator based on an output from the error detector and applies it to an adder. On the other hand, the actuator simulation circuit for electrically simulating the characteristics of the actuator estimates the position of the actuator from the control input. Furthermore, a target follow-up estimator estimates a track bend based on outputs from the actuator simulation circuit and the error detector and are fed forward to the adder via a feedforward gain. The Adder applies the computed control input to the actuator. As a result, a control system which offers an improved precision over a wide band can be achieved while maintaining the stability.

Control system and information recording and reproducing apparatus

The relative height between two sets of magnetic head groups shared for recording and reproduction and mounted on actuators is adjusted at high accuracy, so that a track of a predetermined track width and track pitch can be formed. In a rotary head type magnetic recording/reproduction apparatus including two sets of magnetic head groups AT and BT of one or a plurality of magnetic heads displaceable in the track width direction by actuators 100A and 100B, a signal which becomes the reference for relative height adjustment of the heads is recorded by one of the magnetic head groups. Then, the magnetic tape is rewound, and the run of the magnetic tape is controlled by one of the magnetic head groups. Under this state, the relative height between the two sets of magnetic head groups is detected by the other magnetic head group, whereby the relative height of the two sets of magnetic head groups is adjusted according to that information.

The Invention is an image input apparatus equipped with means of image shifting which is capable of inputting images of different resolutions, and enables the transmission band of the spatial filter to be switched in accordance with resolution in order to prevent moire. When a flat transparent refraction plate 22 is inclined relative to the optical axis 10 by which light from the object is introduced, the position where the image is formed on the imaging surface of the CCD 14 is shifted, thus making image shifting possible. High resolution images are obtained by shifting the image a distance shorter than the distance between the photosensitive parts of the CCD 14, and then combining the images. The transmission band of the spatial filter 12 for preventing moire can be switched by changing the relative angles of the double refraction plates 20, 21. The transmission band of the spatial filter 12 is switched to the high frequency side when inputting high resolution images by means of the image shift mechanism 13, thus obtaining images of good resolution.
