A connector includes an electrically conductive plug provided with a retaining hole, and an insulating housing that has a retaining member shaped in a cantilever beam. The retaining member has a retaining claw portion. The retaining claw portion has a projecting portion formed at a proximal end side of the retaining member. The projecting portion is crashed by an edge portion of the retaining hole when the retaining claw portion is engaged with the retaining hole.

Connector having an improved locking structure

A connector includes an insulative holding member having a generally-cylindrical tubular shape, and a conductive shielding member which includes a cover portion for covering an outer peripheral face of the holding member and a clamping portion. The holding member has a receiving portion. The cover portion has an engaging portion which engages with the receiving portion. The holding member has a guide groove for guiding the engaging portion to the receiving portion, the guide groove extending from an end portion of the holding member along a first direction in which the holding member extends. The guide groove has a first end and a second end, the first end disposed on the end portion of the holding member, and the second end disposed so as to opposed to the first end. A width of the guide groove gradually increases toward the first end to the second end.

Connector

An electrical connection device between a handle and a steering column for a vehicle includes a rotor, a housing for rotatably supporting the rotor and a flexible flat cable accommodated in an annular space defined by the rotor and the housing. The rotor is provided on an outer periphery thereof with a resinous C-ring of which frictional coefficient is smaller than that of the rotor. Consequently, when the rotor rotates with respect to the housing, the sliding resistance of the rotor rotating can be reduced by the C-ring, so that the sliding-noise can be reduced.

Electrical connection device between handle and steering column

An electrical connection device between a handle and a steering column for a vehicle includes a rotor, a housing for rotatably supporting the rotor and a flexible flat cable accommodated in an annular space defined by the rotor and the housing. The rotor has a tip having a convex curved-face, which is arranged at an axial end of the rotor. A part of the housing, which comes into contact with the tip of the rotor, is shaped to have a concave curved-face. With the arrangement, when the rotating direction of the rotor is reversed, the tip of the rotor would be guided by the concave curved-face of the housing, so that a plane-contact between the side of the rotor and the side of the housing can be avoided thereby to reduce the contact-noise.
