By adopting a method of requesting a band for each plurality of calls, or a method of requesting a band independently of origination or termination of a call, a method of reducing the frequency of origination of a call is provided. A first aspect may provide that a gate keeper requests security and release of a band not every call, but collectively for a plurality of calls, and the security and the release of a band are requested at frequency less than that of origination or termination of calls. A second aspect may provide that an estimated value of a time series change in necessary band is previously set in a gate keeper, and security and release of a band required for communication are requested depending on a time, but independently of origination and termination of a call.

Method of requesting security and release of communication band

A communication relay system is connected to a line switched mobile communication system adapted to accommodate therein mobile terminals through radio channels and a packet switched mobile communication system adapted to accommodate therein the mobile terminals through radio channels. When a connection request has been made to a portable terminal, the communication relay system judges whether the portable terminal of interest is connected either to the line switched mobile communication system or to the packet switched mobile communication system.

Mobile communication system

A gateway (GW) for relaying a communication between a public telephone network and a routing server for managing use status of the GW and a network are provided on the internet. When a connection request is received, the GW issues a request to retrieve a route in which the costs are minimum and a necessary bandwidth can be reserved. The routing server retrieves the route of the minimum costs using the bandwidth reservation status of the internet and the partner's telephone number and notifies the request issued GW of the address of the partner GW. The costs at that time point may be notified to the user and the user selects whether the communication is performed or not. By managing the current connection information established by each GW, if a necessary bandwidth cannot be reserved, an audio compression ratio may be changed.

Communication system with communication route retrieval and selection function

A portable information terminal including a self-positioning measuring device is provided to make reservations and obtain status information of available services from a plurality of reservation centers and a plurality of status information providers, via a communication network. Such a portable information terminal may comprise a reserving unit for accessing to a reservation center, and reservation storage for storing a reservation content of a reservation; a status information collecting and judging unit for collecting status information relating to execution of the reservation content from the status information providers via the communications network and deciding, based on collected information and position information obtained by the self-positioning device, whether to move to a location for execution of the reservation content, deciding whether the reservation content is to be changed; an alternative reservation generating unit for collecting, in the case where the status information collecting and judging unit judges that the reservation content is to be changed, information relating to an alternative reservation to show the alternative reservation; and a reservation change execution unit for canceling the current reservation and storing the alternative reservation into the reservation storage.

An apparatus for producing deionized water consisting essentially of an electrodialyzer having cation exchange membranes and anion exchange membranes alternately arranged between a cathode and an anode to form demineralizing compartments and concentrating compartments, and ion exchangers accommodated in the demineralizing compartments, wherein a pressure of from 0.1 to 20 kg/cm,is exerted between the ion exchangers accommodated in the demineralizing compartments and the cation exchange membranes and anion exchange membranes defining the demineralizing compartments.

Method and apparatus for producing deionized water

A communication system and communication method adapted so that the user of one of the communication terminals can more easily communicate with another one connected to the internet through the public network. Connection management servers for relay and manage the communication are provided at nodes between the internet and the public network. Each of the connection management servers assigns an IP address to the communication terminal connected to the internet through the public network, and registers the IP address and the telephone number. When receiving a communication request, the connection management server specifies a communication route to the communication terminal on the basis of the telephone number of the called-side communication terminal set in the communication request. The server checks if the called-side communication terminal is connected to the internet on the basis of the above registration. If it is connected to the internet, the server relays the communication request. If it is not connected thereto, the notice that it is not connected is transmitted to the calling-side communication terminal. If it is not connected yet, the server regards the called-side terminal as having its telephone connected to the telephone channel, and causes speech transmission between that telephone and the calling-side communication terminal.

A method for producing deionized water by self-regenerating type electrodialysis deionization, which comprises (i) using a deionized water-producing apparatus containing an electrodialyzer comprising cation exchange membranes and anion exchange membranes alternately arranged between an anode compartment provided with an anode and a cathode compartment provided with a cathode, demineralizing compartments compartmentalized with anion exchange membranes on the anode side and compartmentalized with cation exchange membranes on the cathode side, and concentrating compartments compartmentalized with cation exchange membranes on the anode side and compartmentalized with anion exchange membranes on the cathode side, the electrodialyzer having ion exchangers accommodated in the demineralizing compartments, and (ii) applying a voltage while supplying water to be treated to the demineralizing compartments to remove impurity ions in the water to be treated, wherein at least a part of the untreated water or already treated water is withdrawn to be added to a concentrating water for recycle, a flow amount of untreated water to be introduced into the demineralizing compartments being from 2 to 5.5 to a flow amount of a concentrating water to be introduced into the concentrating compartments, a linear velocity of untreated water in the demineralizing compartments being from 0.5 to 7.0 cm/sec, and a linear velocity of a concentrating water in the concentrating compartments being from 1.2 to 20 times to the linear velocity in the demineralizing compartments.

Method for producing deionized water

A communication system which can communicate with a party user even when an originator user of a communication terminal does not know the terminal address of a communication terminal of the party user with whom the originator user wants to communicate. When its own user A does not know the terminal address of a communication terminal of a user B, a communication terminal of the user A sends an outgoing file having its own terminal address stored therein as an electronic mail directed to the user B. When receiving the outgoing file as the electronic mail, the communication terminal of the user B displays an icon on its display unit to prompt the user B to enter an instruction of performing reply communication. In response to it, when the user B clicks a mouse on the icon, the communication terminal of the user B can perform the reply communication to the communication terminal corresponding to terminal address stored in the outgoing file.

The improved hybrid calcitonin has a peptide segment in human calcitonin and a peptide segment in calcitonin derived from animals other than humans, such as eel, salmon and chicken. Each of the human or human analog calcitonins and the calcitonins derived from animals other than humans may be either native calcitonin or an analog thereof. The hybrid calcitonin has the outstanding advantage that it exhibits biological activities as strong as eel, salmon and chicken calcitonin while causing no side effects including nausea, disorders in the functions of the digestive tract or antigenicity.

In mail terminal equipment for receiving and reproducing a mail which has been produced using multi-media data containing a plurality of continuous audio data and a plurality of drawing data synchronized with at least a part of the audio data and has been transmitted thereto. Where reproduction of the drawing data is later than that if the audio data, the drawing data is synchronized with the audio data without interrupting reproduction of the audio data. When the drawing data still remains which at certain timing (e.g., timing when supplementing the audio data to a audio buffer for storing the audio data waiting for reproduction), should be reproduced until that time point, but is not reproduced resulting from the delay of reproduction of the drawing data due to the drawing processing, the loading situation and the like, the drawing data of interest is skipped so as not to be reproduced, and the next drawing data is reproduced.

In a multiprocessor system including a plurality of processors and asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) switches in the number corresponding to a bit width of internal buses of respective processors each processor has an interface for connecting in parallel to each of the plurality of ATM switches. Each interface splits a transmission data block into a plurality of bit data blocks at every bit position, converts them into a plurality of cells by adding a header including routing information determined by a destination processor to each bit data block, and sends these cells in parallel to the plurality of ATM switches. The plurality of cells are transferred in parallel to the destination processors by the ATM switches and reassembled into an original data block in the interface of the destination processor.

In a telephone switching apparatus having an inter-office interface consisting of a plurality of communication circuits having different priorities and a control line for transfer of call control signals, a first circuit having the highest priority is hunted from the idle one of said communication circuits upon setting of a call and the communication is started. During the communication, if a second circuit having a higher priority than that of the first circuit becomes idle, by communicating a control signal to switch the circuit between the switching apparatuses, the busy circuit for the call is switched from the first circuit of a low priority to the second circuit of a high priority.

Communication system using switching apparatus

In a communication network, in which a plurality of switching nodes are connected with each other through a plurality of relay lines and one of the switching nodes acts as a center node for network routing, the center node estimates the state of delay of data for every relay line on the basis of information previously inputted, indicating the communication network configuration, and the state of delay of data reported by each of the switching nodes, and informs each of the switching nodes of said estimated state of delay of data. Each of the switching nodes determines and selects the relay line giving the shortest delay of data for every destination, to which it outputs data, on the basis of the state of delay at the relevant switching node itself and that received from the center node.

Routing control method in a packet switching network

A plurality of cross-point matrices each having a plurality of holding circuits respectively associated with a corresponding cross point are arranged in multiple stages, which are linked with each other to form a multi-stage switching network. Each switch matrix is provided with an associated NAND gate connected to gates capable of being selectively impressed with the signals representing the state of the holding circuits within the particular switch matrix. The output of the NAND gate is connected to an OR gate for each stage.
