A system includes a formatter configured to adapt media content that is stored in memory to a media delivery format that is compatible with a media delivery medium corresponding to transmission medium for delivery of the media content. A delivery manager is configured to process a request for the media content and deliver the media content in the media deliver format via the media delivery medium based on one of a delivery time constraint and a quality constraint. A weighing engine is configured to prioritize the delivery time constraint over the quality constraint for the media content or the quality constraint over the delivery time constraint for the media content based on a type of media content to deliver a timely version of the media content timely via the media delivery medium.

Adaptive media delivery

A system includes a delivery manager to process a request for media content that is stored in memory, the delivery manager being programmed to determine a media delivery mechanism for the media content based on constraints of at least one delivery parameter. The system includes a formatter programmed to adapt the media content to a media delivery format that is compatible with the media delivery mechanism and the constraints of the delivery parameter. The delivery manager can be programmed to adaptively initiate delivery of the media content in the media delivery format and via the delivery mechanism according to the constraints of the delivery parameter.

A system includes an application programming interface (API) configured to process a transaction request that specifies data content located at a storage medium. A request processor associated with the API can be configured to determine a delivery format for the data content in response to the transaction request. A file converter can be configured to transform the data content into the delivery format in accordance with the transaction request.

A disaster recovery system can include a plurality of resources arranged in a cloud computing environment. Each of the resources can be assignable to function within the cloud computing environment as part of one or more media systems. A content intake service can be programmed to control delivery of an incoming media asset to the cloud computing environment. A monitoring and recovery process can be programmed to monitor a primary media system to which the incoming media asset is being provided and, in response to detecting a disaster recovery condition, the monitoring and recovery process can intelligently manage selected resources of the plurality of resources based on the incoming media asset being delivered to the primary media system.

System and method for disaster recovery

Single instances of individual codecs are instantiated on different processing elements, and blocks of video frames are interspersed or 'striped' across the multiple instances. An apparatus according to the invention comprises a demultiplexer for receiving the incoming uncompressed video stream and parsing it into blocks, each containing an integer multiple of the inter-frame coding distance, and each block is alternately sent to a different processing element for compression. This allows the output compressed signal to be generated in real-time without dropping frames.

A data storage system is described that simultaneously stores incoming data in a plurality of different digital formats linked together to permit economical accessibility and browsing of stored content by providing user access to reduced-resolution versions of stored format. Synchronization information correlates the same content stored in different digital formats to provide a means to reflect an edit of content in one format to the content stored in the other formats without manual editing of content in each format.
