Methods, systems, and devices are disclosed for monitoring the dispensing of a fluid from a container. In one aspect, a system includes a conformal substrate including a mechanically flexible and an electrically insulative material, the substrate attached and conformed to a container containing a fluid; a data acquisition unit including a sensor and a signal processing circuit formed on the conformal substrate, in which the sensor transduces an occurrence of the fluid dispensing from the container into an electrical signal, and the signal processing circuit amplifies the electrical signal; a data processing unit formed on the conformal substrate and in communication with the data acquisition unit to process the amplified electrical signal as data; and a communications unit formed on the conformal substrate and in communication with the data processing unit to wirelessly transmit the processed data to a remote device.

Unobtrusive wireless electronic systems for monitoring and facilitating patient compliance

Disclosed are flexible and stretchable antenna devices, systems and methods of use and manufacture. In some aspects, a flexible and stretchable antenna device includes an adhesive substrate having flexible and stretchable material properties and capable of adhering to a surface of an object; and an antenna attached on or at least partially embedded within the adhesive substrate, the antenna including a radiating element and a ground element, in which one or both of the radiating element and the ground element include a mesh structure allowing the antenna device to transmit or receive wireless communication signals at a predetermined operating frequency while being stretched.

Methods, systems, and devices are disclosed for in vivo production or biosynthesis of metabolites in foreign cells using the combination of (i) one or more ferredoxin dependent enzyme(s) and (ii) a ferredoxin (Fd)/ferredoxin-NADPreductase (FNR) system. Disclosed are devices, systems and methods for monitoring electrophysiological function from anatomical structures, including gastric slow-waves in high resolution electrogastrograms. In some aspects, a device includes an electrophysiological sensor structured to include an array of electrodes spatially arranged on a substrate and operable to acquire electrophysiological signals to obtain time-series data, the electrodes spaced about an anatomical structure on the subject's body with at least one electrode placed with reference to an anatomical landmark and other electrodes of the electrode array each placed at a spatial distance from another of the surface electrodes; and a data processing unit to process spatially resolved time-series data based on the electrophysiological signals to determine wave propagation parameters including direction and/or speed for each time point of interest of the acquired electrophysiological signals, in which the wave propagation parameters are associated with a physiological function of the anatomical structure of the subject's body.

Devices, system and methods for monitoring physiological functions from surface electrophysiological sensors

Methods, systems, and devices are disclosed for characterizing the gastrointestinal functions using non-invasive surface recordings from EGG. In one aspect, a system for non-invasively characterizing gastrointestinal functions is disclosed. The system includes electrodes configured to capture a gut electrophysiology recording; and a processor to estimate a frequency and an amplitude of the recording across time.

Methods, devices, and systems are disclosed for producing cognitive and/or sensory profiles. In one aspect, a method to provide a cognitive or sensory assessment of a subject includes selecting a profile category from among a cognitive performance profile, a sensory performance profile, and a cognitive and sensory performance profile, presenting a sequence of stimuli to a subject, the sequence of stimuli based on the selected profile category, acquiring physiological signals of the subject before, during, and after the presenting the sequence of stimuli to produce physiological data, and processing the physiological data to generate an information set including one or more quantitative values associated with the selected profile category.

Systems and methods for sensory and cognitive profiling

Disclosed are methods for fabrication of flexible circuits and electronic devices in cost effective manner that can include integration of submicron structures directly onto target substrates compatible with industrial microfabrication techniques. In one aspect, a method to fabricate an electronic device, includes depositing an electrically conductive layer on a processing substrate including a weakly-adhesive interface layer on a support substrate; depositing an insulating layer on the conductive layer to attach to the conductive layer; forming a circuit on the processing substrate by etching selected portions of the conductive layer based on a circuit design; and producing a flexible electronic device by attaching a flexible substrate to the formed circuit on the processing substrate and detaching the circuit and the flexible substrate from the interface layer, in which the flexible electronic device includes the circuit attached to the flexible substrate.

Fabrication of flexible electronic devices

Disclosed are highly scalable fabrication methods for producing electronic circuits, devices, and systems. In one aspect, a fabrication method includes attaching an electronic component at a location on a substrate including a flexible and electrically insulative material; forming a template to encase the electronic component by depositing a material in a phase to conform on the surfaces of the electronic component and the substrate, and causing the material to change to solid form; and producing a circuit or electronic device by forming openings in the substrate to expose conductive portions of the electronic component, creating electrical interconnections coupled to at least some of the conductive portions in a selected arrangement on the substrate, and depositing a layer of an electrically insulative and flexible material over the electrical interconnections on the substrate to form a flexible base of the circuit, in which the produced circuit or electronic device is encased.

Scalable fabrication techniques and circuit packaging devices

Disclosed herein are methods of assembling nucleic acid fragments, such as non overlapping nucleic acid fragments, in an orientation-specific, sequence-independent way. The methods entail annealing one or more nucleic acid fragments to be assembled onto a solid phase via matching barcodes having sequences complementary to the solid phase oligos, ligating the nucleic acid fragments by end-to-end ligation, and recovering the ligated nucleic acid from the solid phase.

In one aspect, a method to provide an assessment related to a neurological or neuropsychiatric disorder includes selecting a profile category indicative of one or more aspects of cognitive or sensory functions associated with a neurological or neuropsychiatric disorder, presenting a sequence of stimuli to a subject, in which the sequence of stimuli is based on the selected profile category, acquiring physiological signals of the subject before, during, and after the presenting of the sequence of stimuli to produce physiological data, and processing the physiological data to generate an information set including one or more quantitative values associated with the selected profile category.

Systems and methods for evaluation of neuropathologies

Methods, systems, and devices are disclosed for acquiring and analyzing physiological signals. In one aspect, a physiological sensor device includes a substrate formed of an electrically insulative material and structured to allow physical contact of the device with the frontal region of the head of a user, a recording electrode configured at a first location on the substrate to acquire an electrophysiological signal of the user, a reference electrode configured at a second location on the substrate to acquire a reference signal to the electrophysiological signal, and a ground electrode configured at a third location at least partially between the first and the second locations on the substrate, in which the first location is posterior to the second and third locations, and in which the device is operable when electrically coupled to an electrical circuit to detect physiological signals of the user.
