A method, computer program product, and a system where a processor(s) determine that a user of a given computing device has been authenticated to initiate an application session, that the application session is open, and that the application session has a timeout mechanism triggered by inactivity (i.e., the session not receiving a selection within a first predefined period of time). The processor(s) determines that the application session will automatically timeout within a second predefined period of time based on the inactivity. The processor(s) monitors activities of the user during pendency of the application session with the application including physical and computing activities of the user. The processor(s) determines that at least one activity of the activities indicates engagement of the user with the application session. The processor(s) prevent the timeout mechanism from being triggered during a duration of the at least one activity.

Maintaining electronic communications session continuity during session inactivity

An approach is disclosed that optically transmit data from a dedicated mobile device (DMD) to another device. Optically transmitting the data is performed by displaying the data on a display screen included in the DMD. The approach further optically receives data at the DMD. The data is received at a digital camera included in the DMD. Based on the exchanged data, the DMD determines if the DMD and the other device are bound to each other.

An approach is disclosed that places a first side of an optical communication mounting frame (OCMF) onto a surface of a device with some of the device's display and its digital camera being are hidden from view from outside of the OCMF. A second device is received at another side of the OCMF, with some of the device's display and its digital camera being are hidden from view from outside of the OCMF. Each display is viewable from the other device's digital camera. Optical communications between the devices is performed by displaying data on one display that is read by the other device's digital camera and this communication is allowed while the OCMF is present. However, communication between the devices is inhibited when the OCMF is not present.

A method, computer program product, and a system where a processor(s) of a computing device identifies at least two displays coupled to the processor(s) to render visual objects to a user of the computing device, like a cursor, and processor(s) obtains instructions to render the cursor in various locations on the displays via an input device. The processor(s) obtain a display layout for the displays and resolutions of displays and generates an initial virtual desktop that includes physical real estate of the displays where the processor(s) renders visual objects. The processor(s) determines boundaries of each display and selects outermost two dimensional boundaries of the initial virtual desktops and updates the initial virtual desktop to an area bounded by a virtual rectangle comprising the outermost boundaries, which includes the displays and physical space not useable by the processor(s) to render visual objects.

Providing visual control guidance on a display

Interaction with a chatbot of a computer system is facilitated by receiving, by the chatbot, a request from a user of the chatbot, where the request establishes a user-chatbot interaction. Based at least in part on the request, a plurality of predicted chatbot paths are generated, forming a hierarchy of predicted chatbot content for the user-chatbot interaction. A graphical chatbot interface including, at least in part, the hierarchy of predicted chatbot content for the user-chatbot interaction is provided for display on an electronic device, and a selection by the user of one predicted chatbot path of the graphical chatbot interface is received, via the electronic device, as part of the user-chatbot interaction, where the providing of the graphical chatbot interface facilitates user interaction with the chatbot along the selected predicted chatbot path.

A computer system identifies hand strokes generated while a user produces handwritten text. Based on the hand strokes, characters are identified. Based on the characters, words are identified. The words are checked for spelling, and the user is notified of any misspelled words.

Automated configuring of system settings of a computer for a peripheral device(s) is provided. The configuring process includes determining, by the computer, that a peripheral device has been connected to the computer, and based on the determining, ascertaining profile-related data for use in configuring computer system settings for the peripheral device connected to the computer. The ascertained profile-related data is used to identify, by the computer, a settings profile for the peripheral device from saved settings profiles for one or more peripheral devices. Based on the identified settings profile, the computer system settings for the peripheral device are configured.

A method of controlling the display of an electronic devices that includes measuring a motion of a device; and determining if the motion of the device and the display state of the device at the time of motion match conditions in a database of motions that are correlated to display states that signal a change from the display state at the time of the motion to a called display state. The method may further include adjusting power from a battery to the display to effectuate a change of display state in response to motion of the device matching conditions in the database of motions that signal the change of display state or a user intervention signaling a change in display state. The method further includes updating a database of motions in response to changes in the display state effectuated by user intervention.

The intensity of light is the intensity at the discrete light source where the light is emitted.

The computer transmits configuration information to one or more photographic devices in a photographic setup. The configuration information is based on the photographic metadata. The computer determines whether the one or more photographic devices in the photographic setup are configured correctly, based on at least comparing the configuration update to the photographic metadata.
