A latching apparatus includes a catch and a pin to maintain a chassis in a closed configuration. The catch is coupled to a first chassis panel and movable relative to the pin that is coupled to a second chassis panel. In response to relative movement between the catch and the pin along a first axis, a first portion of the pin is positioned within an opening of the catch to maintain the chassis closed. In response to relative movement between the catch and the pin, the catch opening is positioned around a second portion of the pin to define an unlatched position. Whereas the closed configuration inhibits relative movement between the first and second chassis portions, the unlatched position permits relative movement therebetween for separation between the first chassis panel and the second chassis panel.

Mechanism to latch a cover closed

An electronic system includes a chassis, an air flow distribution assembly having a first set of baffles disposed within an intake volume of the chassis and a second set of baffles disposed in proximity to an air outlet of the chassis. The first set of baffles is configured to turn the flow of an air stream approximately 90 degrees, relative to an inlet flow direction of the air stream, toward circuit boards disposed within the chassis. The second set of baffles is configured as a flow splitter that receives the air stream from the circuit boards and partitions the air stream into separate portions prior to the air stream exiting via the air outlet. The use of both the first and second set of baffles redirects and distributes the air stream, flowing into the air inlet, in a substantially even manner across the circuit board component mounting surfaces of the circuit boards disposed within the system.

Method and apparatus for providing thermal management in an electronic device

An apparatus is configured to contain a transceiver module. The apparatus includes a support member defining a space to receive the transceiver module. The support member has a front portion which forms a front of the support member and a mounting portion which is configured to physically and electrically connect with a circuit board. The apparatus further includes a face plate which attaches to the front portion of the support member. The face plate defines an opening through which the transceiver module passes when the transceiver module enters and exits the space. The apparatus further includes an electromagnetic interference shielding clip which installs around the face plate. The electromagnetic interference shielding clip includes four side portions which define hinges along mid-lines of the side portions. Actuation of the hinges enables the electromagnetic interference shielding clip to conveniently and easily install around the face plate.
