A profile of one or more users of the online auction environment is developed. The profile of each user can be based at least in part on historical auction activity of that user. An auction of the online auction environment that is in progress is monitored. A prediction is determined as to whether the auction will be successful based at least in part on the profile of the one or more users that are participating in the auction.

Profiling auction assets and/or participants to predict auction outcome

The non-bidding activity of one or more bidders of an auction is detected over an online interface of the auction environment. The activity of the one or more bidders is detected while the one or more bidders are participating in the auction. The non-bidding activity is correlated to an interest metric for the auction. Information is communicated that is based on the interest metric. The information can be communicated to either a seller or a bidder of the auction.
