A system and method to detect an event associated with a first object relative to a second object and a support is provided. The system can include an antenna at a support to receive the first object, a tag reader in communication with the antenna and a tag located on the second object. In response to detecting a change in impedance of the antenna associated with the presence of the first object, the tag reader communicates a presence signal. In response to detecting the tag within a threshold proximity of the tag reader, the tag reader generates a tag signal. A remoter server is operable to detect an association of the first and second objects based on a comparison a time associated with each of the tag signal and the presence signal, and in response then creates an output indicative of a detected event based on the association for illustration.

System and method to detect an event associated with a person relative to a bed

A device configured to be disposed on or proximate to a dispenser and to detect hand hygiene compliance is provided. The device includes a proximity detection device configured to detect a location and an identifier of a caregiver within a proximity of the device. The device also includes a transducer configured to detect a release event from the dispenser by detecting an acoustic waveform emitted from the dispenser when soap or sanitizer is released from the dispenser. The device further includes a processing device configured to associate the caregiver with the release event based on detecting the acoustic waveform when the caregiver is located within the proximity of the device.

System and method for detecting hand hygiene compliance

Data capture and workflow management devices, systems, and methods are provided. In one embodiment, a system includes a data processing system having a processor and a storage device. The storage device may include application instructions encoded therein, and the application instructions may include a workflow engine to facilitate healthcare delivery to a patient. The system may further a data capture device to communicate data to the data processing system over a network. The data capture device may be provided in the form of a magnet board including a plurality of magnetic sensors to detect user-placement of a magnet within a region associated with a magnetic sensor.

Data capture and workflow management technique

Techniques are provided for reducing the transmission of infrared (IR) signals outside of a reclamation receptacle. Techniques include using a reclamation receptacle having an IR transmitter configured to transmit IR signals when the reclamation receptacle is in a closed configuration and configured to cease transmission of the IR signals when the reclamation receptacle is in an open configuration. A radio frequency identification (RFID) tag may be deposited in the reclamation receptacle. The RFID tag may receive the IR signals and generate a radio frequency (RF) signal in response to the IR signals, wherein the RF signal indicates that the RFID tag is in the reclamation receptacle.

Location tracking systems and techniques are provided. In one embodiment, a system includes a memory device and a processor configured to execute a plurality of routines stored in the memory device. The plurality of routines includes receiving of a plurality of patient locations as provided by a respective plurality of location-providing systems from one or more data sources, determination of a resolved patient location by selecting one of the plurality of patient locations based at least in part on a hierarchy of patient locations, and outputting of the resolved patient location. In some embodiments, the location-providing systems may include a real-time location system and a static location system, which may provide a current location and an assigned location, respectively.
