A fully automated pharmaceutical product packaging machine is capable of selectively depositing one or more different solid pharmaceutical products into an individual cavity for each of a plurality of individual patient product package cavities. The system employs a plurality of solid pharmaceutical product dispensing canisters which are capable of selectively dispensing a pre-designated number of solid pharmaceutical products. The machine fills a template containing temporary storage cavities and the template is automatically positioned over a sheet of clear plastic material containing a plurality of cavities corresponding to the cavities in the template. A barrier between the cavities in the template and the sheet of clear plastic material is moved and the pharmaceuticals in the template cavities drop into the corresponding cavities in the clear plastic sheet of material. The clear plastic sheet of material is then maneuvered into subsequent product packaging stations and the template is returned to beneath the canister region.

Automated solid pharmaceutical product packaging machine

A medication storage/dispenser unit comprises a processor connected to medication package storage compartments. The storage compartments comprise a medication package, and preferably may also include a content reader, a medication information reader, and a medication package indicator. The processor receives a medication request from the medical information system, receives content and other medication from the storage compartments, processes the information and automatically opens the appropriate compartment with the correct medication.

Systems and methods for storing and dispensing medication

An automated pharmaceutical product packaging machine simultaneously fills a plurality of product package templates in parallel with desired pharmaceutical dosing requirements. The templates are subsequently positioned over a temporary storage template having cavities for receiving solid pharmaceutical doses. A collector member is subsequently placed beneath the temporary storage template for receiving the pharmaceuticals which in turn is positioned over a solid pharmaceutical product package having a plurality of cavities which correspond to openings on the templates and wherein each of the templates fills a pharmaceutical package.

Systems and methods for providing individualized solid pharmaceutical product packaging solutions preferably utilize a plurality of filling stations preferably arranged proximate to a conveyor system. Each of the filling stations may be embodied as a version of a conventional flood fill type mechanism wherein a hopper is used to store a large number of a single type of solid pharmaceutical products. The filling stations preferably incorporate transition blocks and/or row or column transfer gates.

High speed automated filling of solid pharmaceutical product packaging via a conveyor system

An improved temporary pharmaceutical product packaging solution provides users with multiple individual cavities that may be filled with multiple individual doses of various pharmaceuticals and subsequently sealed by the user for future consumption of the pharmaceuticals. In a preferred exemplary embodiment, the user is able to simultaneously seal a plurality of individual cavities with a sheet of cover material after the individual cavities have been filled with the desired pharmaceuticals. In a preferred exemplary embodiment of the cover material is reverse printed with dosing information for an individual.

Product packaging material for individual temporary storage of pharmaceutical products

A pharmaceutical product package employs a clear plastic member that includes at least one cavity within which one or more pharmaceutical products may be located. The cavity is preferably centrally located within the boundaries of the overall package in a lower portion thereof. The clear plastic member preferably includes one or more additional elongated structural protrusions that extend outward in the same direction as the cavity for housing the pharmaceutical products. These elongated structural protrusions are formed lengthwise parallel to and near the edges of the package. The pharmaceutical package of the present invention also desirably includes a central void or opening in the clear plastic material which is preferably located above the cavity for the solid pharmaceutical. The void provides location for receiving a hook or other protruding member for hanging the product package on the hook or other protruding member. The backing material includes a corresponding void or opening that at least substantially matches the opening in the clear plastic material. A tab of backing material extends into the region of the void in the clear plastic material.

Robotic compatible blister package

An automated pharmaceutical package machine fills a product package filling guide positioned above a solid pharmaceutical product package having a plurality of cavities corresponding to positions of the filling guide. The automatic filling machine includes a mechanism for vertically displacing the product package to be filled toward the filling guide. Various guide members or plates are utilized in order to pre-fill filling templates so that each of the cavities of a product package may be simultaneously filled.
