A system and method for awarding secondary prizes, such as relative to wagering events presented at gaming machines and gaming tables, is provided. A player receives a different number of opportunities, such as prize entries, for wagers placed on different wagering events having different house advantages, and preferably where each prize entry has its own win/lose outcome.

Method and system for normalizing secondary award opportunities for players placing wagers having different house advantages

Nonconventional playing cards, nonconventional decks of playing cards and method of playing and presenting games using such cards are provided. A nonconventional deck of playing cards may comprise a plurality of playing cards each having a card face bearing at least a primary indicium and a secondary indicium, the primary indicium comprising a card rank, at least a first number of the plurality of playing cards having a first card rank and a second number of the plurality of playing cards having a second card rank, the first and second numbers of cards being different. The primary indicia may comprise characters and the secondary indicia may comprise card background colors. A deck may comprise cards of 6 ranks and cards of each rank varying between 6 and 12 cards.

Nonconventional playing cards, playing card decks and games using nonconventional cards

A gaming tournament and tournament system allow multiple players to play a plurality of individual games, such as at gaming machines of the system. Each player plays individual games until they have achieved a predesignated number of game losses. Each player is assigned a tournament score, such as comprising an aggregate of points which are awarded for each winning game outcome. The individual games may comprise poker games which include a replacement card feature and a dynamic point award configuration.

Game tournaments and gaming systems having a loss accumulation feature

A casino wagering game dealt with a predetermined amount of cards where each round features one of the thirteen ranks randomly selected to be wild after the initial ante, dealing the hands and wagering on the hands as dealt prior to randomly selecting the new wild card for the round. Any player or dealer having a hand that contains the rank that is selected to be wild may use that card to improve their hand. A random number generator or random selection from a full deck of cards may be used to determine the new wild card for each round.
