An electrical connector has a plastic body and a blade contact in a terminal cavity in the body. A guard extends across the mouth of the cavity over an adjacent edge of the blade. A physical interlock connection holds the guard on the blade edge to shield the blade and prevent an object inserted into the mouth from contacting the blade.

An optoelectronic cable assembly () includes an insulative housing (), a set of contacts () retained in the housing, an optical module () movably retained to the housing and at least one fiber optic coupled () to the optical module. The housing defines a base portion () and an extending portion () extending forwards from the base portion. The set of contacts each defines a retention portion () retained in the base portion, an elastic arm () running through the extending portion and exposed beyond the extending portion and a tail portion () extending out of the base portion. The optical module is disposed in front of the extending portion to receive the elastic arms therein, and is capable of moving along a front-to-back direction with regard to the extending portion. The optical module is moveable with regard to the extending portion, which can be accurately aligned with.

A card connector includes a main housing having a base portion, a pair of side walls and a bottom wall connecting with the base portion and side walls thereby defining a receiving cavity. Multiple groups of contact sets comprise at least one grounding contact. The contact sets have contacting portions projecting into the receiving cavity. A metallic shell covers a top side of the main housing and defines an insertion opening together with the main housing. A pair of guiders are floatably assembled on opposite sides of the insertion opening for guiding different sized cards. A grounding plate which is attached to a bottom side of the main housing, comprises a pair of flexible tangs respectively pressing against a bottom side of the guiders. The grounding plate further comprises a grounding section electrically contacting with the at least one grounding contact so as to establish a grounding path.

A card connector () includes an insulating housing () defining a card receiving space; a set of first contacts () supported by the insulative housing and adapted for mating with XD card, and the first contacts having at least one grounding contact (G); a set of second contacts () supported by the insulative housing and adapted for mating with SD card, the second contacts having at least one grounding contact (G); a set of third contacts () supported by the insulative housing and adapted for mating with MS card, the third contacts having at least one grounding contact (G); and at least two of the grounding contacts commonly grounded.

Compact multi-function card connector

A cable assembly includes a housing including a main portion defining a connecting direction and a mating portion defining a mating direction, the connecting direction being perpendicular to the mating direction, a plurality of contacts receiving in the housing, a plurality of cables each including an inner conductor connected to the contacts and an outer conductor, a grounding bar connected to all the outer conductors of the cables. The grounding bar defines a long side extending along a direction perpendicular to the connecting direction and a short side extending along a direction parallel to the mating direction, and the housing further has a receiving trough to receive the grounding bar.

An audio jack includes an insulative housing and a number of contacts retained therein. The insulative housing defines a receiving space for receiving a corresponding plug and a number of mounting holes extending inwardly from a mounting wall thereof. Each contact has a tail portion for connecting with a circuit board. A core pin is inserted into the receiving space and a plenty of elastomeric material is flowed into the mounting holes around the contacts to make the insulative housing being sealed except the receiving space. After the elastomeric material has solidified the core pin is withdrawn.

Waterproof audio jack and method of making the same

The present invention provides an electrical socket comprising a wafer defining a plurality of slots extending between an upper face and a lower face of the wafer; an upper frame mounted on the upper face of the wafer, a lower frame mounted on the lower face of the wafer, and a plurality of contacts each having a base portion floating received in corresponding slots. The upper frame defines a plurality of interior walls to form a plurality of first openings. The lower frame defines a plurality of interior walls to form a plurality of second openings. The contact comprises an upper contacting arm extending through a corresponding first opening and beyond an upper surface of the upper frame, and a lower contacting arm extending through a corresponding second opening and beyond a lower surface of the lower frame.

A card edge connector for receiving a module and includes an insulative housing having a mounting face, a pair of side walls with a central slot formed therebetween, a tower portion extending upwardly from the side wall; a number of contacts mounted to the housing and each defining a retaining portion to fix with the housing, a deflectable contacting arm extending upwardly from the retaining portion and a soldering portion extending downwardly from the retaining portion and projecting beyond the mounting face; and an ejector rotatably mounted on the tower portion of the housing. The ejector includes a base portion, an ejecting portion extending inwardly from the base portion and protruding into the central slot to eject the memory module from the central slot and a cam lobe extending inwardly from the base portion to drive the module down, the cam lobe is located above the ejecting portion.

Card edge connector

An electrical connector () includes an insulative housing () and a terminal module (). The terminal module includes a dielectric wafer (), a number of terminals () assembled within the dielectric wafer and a coupling foil () disposed on the dielectric wafer and having a plurality of circuit traces (-) extending along a first plane. Each terminal is formed with a joint (-). The circuit trace includes a body portion (-) aligned with a selected terminal of the number of terminals and a connection portion (-) fanning out from the body portion toward a specific terminal. The joint of the specific terminal comes to contact with the connection portion along a contact direction orthogonal to the first plane.

Electrical connector configured by wafer having coupling foil and method for making the same

The present invention provides an electrical connector comprising an insulative housing having a plurality of passageways, and a plurality of contacts received in the passageways, respectively. The passageways each defines two inner walls opposite to each other, the two inner walls each having at least one first retention device. The contacts each include a base, an upper arm extending from one side of the base and a lower arm extending from another side. The upper arm further defines two protrusions on opposite sides thereof and the lower arm defines two protrusions on opposite sides thereof. In assembly, protrusions on upper arm are located above the first retention device of the passageways, and protrusions on the lower arm are located below the first retention device of the passageways such that movement of the contact in the passageway along length axis of the passageway is limited in a predetermined distance.
