Method and apparatus for conveying feedback reports from a data receiving party () for data received from a data sending party () in a wireless connection. A plurality of feedback resources () assigned to different feedback information codes are allocated to the data receiving party for transmitting feedback reports. After checking whether the data was received correctly or not, the data receiving party selects a feedback resource (FR) with a feedback information code that corresponds to one or more feedback reports on the received data. The data receiving party then sends feedback information on the selected feedback resource to the data sending party, thereby conveying the corresponding feedback information code. In this way, multiple feedback reports can be conveyed in a single feedback resource to the data sending party while still retaining single carrier properties.

Method for implicit conveying of uplink feedback information

The technology described in this case facilitates random access by a user terminal with a radio base station. A user terminal determines one of a first type of uplink scrambling sequences and generates a random access message using the determined one of the first type of uplink scrambling sequences. The random access message is transmitted to the base station. The user terminal receives from the base station a second, different type of uplink scrambling sequence and uses it for subsequent communication with the radio base station. For example, the first uplink scrambling sequences may be specifically associated with the radio base station's cell area or a random access radio channel associated with the radio base station, but they are not specifically assigned to any user terminal, and the second uplink scrambling sequence may be selected from a second set of uplink scrambling sequences specifically assignable to individual user terminals.

Uplink scrambling during random access

The technology described in this case facilitates random access by a user terminal with a radio base station. A user terminal determines one of a first type of uplink scrambling sequences and generates a random access message using the determined one of the first type of uplink scrambling sequences. The random access message is transmitted to the base station. The user terminal receives from the base station a second, different type of uplink scrambling sequence and uses it for subsequent communication with the radio base station. For example, the first uplink scrambling sequences may he specifically associated with the radio base station's cell area or a random access radio channel associated with the radio base station, but they arc not specifically assigned to any user terminal, and the second uplink scrambling sequence may be selected from a second set of uplink scrambling sequences specifically assignable to individual user terminals.

A method for use in a first node in a wireless access communication system (). According to the method, the first node controls traffic to and from users, UEs, within a certain area in the system, a cell, and the first node is equipped with a plurality of transmit antennas. The first node can employ a variety of multi antenna transmit modes for downlink transmissions, i.e. transmissions to the UEs, and the first node can carry out a so called Random Access (RA) procedure with UEs which do not have a dedicated uplink resource, i.e. a resource to the eNodeB. According to the method, one and the same downlink multi antenna transmit mode is used by the first node during the RA procedure.

Selection of transmit mode during a random access procedure

A method for use in a user terminal in a cellular communications system. According to the method, the user terminal applies a first timing advance value to its transmissions to a controlling node, and the user terminal requests communication with the controlling node in a contention based procedure by transmitting an access request (MSG 1), in response to which the controlling node transmits an initiation message (MSG 2) along with a second timing advance value. According to the method, the user terminal uses the first timing advance value if the user terminal loses the contention based procedure, i.e. if the controlling node subsequently continues the initiated communication with said other user terminal.

Timing alignment in an LTE system

A method for use in a user terminal in a cellular communications system. According to the method, the user terminal applies a first timing advance value to its transmissions to a controlling node, and the user terminal requests communication with the controlling node in a contention based procedure by transmitting an access request (MSG), in response to which the controlling node transmits an initiation message (MSG) along with a second timing advance value. Disclosed is a method for use in a first node in a wireless access communication system. Selection of transit mode during a random access procedure

A method in a base station for controlling a Random Access, RA, procedure is provided. The base station initiates () an RA procedure on a Secondary Cell, SCell, in a User Equipment, UE, by sending to the UE a Physical Downlink Control Channel, PDCCH, order for a RA procedure on the SCell. At initiation of RA, the base station starts () a timer in the base station. The timer is a timer for random access failure detection associated with said initiated RA procedure. If the RA procedure has not been completed before expiry of said timer, the base station sends () a command to the UE, commanding the UE to deactivate the SCell, and thereby stopping the RA procedure on the SCell.

Controlling random access failure on a secondary cell

The present invention discloses a Discontinuous Reception (DRX) parameter configuration method for facilitating Automatic Neighbor Relation (ANR) measurement. The method comprises determining a traffic intensity of a User Equipment (UE) by which a DRX-based ANR measurement is to be performed. The method further comprises setting a value for a DRX parameter to be used by the UE to perform the DRX-based ANR measurement, in accordance with the determined traffic intensity of the UE. The method further comprises transmitting the value set for the DRX parameter to the UE. The present invention further provides an associated BS adapted to perform DRX parameter configuration to facilitate ANR measurement.

The disclosure relates to methods and devices for performing uplink power control in a radio communication system. An example method comprises a step of receiving, at a user equipment (UE) a transmit power control (TPC) command. The method also comprises, if the UE does not have an uplink transmission scheduled for a subframe associated with the TPC command, a step of accumulating, by the UE, the TPC command with previously received TPC commands based on whether the UE has reached a maximum transmit power or a minimum transmit power in a reference format for a Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH), Sounding Reference Signal (SRS) or Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) transmission. Thus the UE is enabled to receive TPC commands while the UE is not transmitting anything in the uplink.

Method and arrangement for uplink power control

The present invention relates to a group (G, G) of at least two transceiver units () in at least one wireless communication system. In order to provide a more robust contention-free random access procedure for use in a cellular wireless network and specifically, a contention-free random access procedure that is able to recover more quickly in case of failure a method for a radio access node () that is arranged in a wireless network and communications with user equipment, UE () and a radio access node are proposed. The method includes: receiving a first random access message () from a UE, the first message containing a pre-assigned contention-free random access preamble and representing a start of a random access procedure; responding to the received first message by sending a second message () to the UE, the second message containing time alignment information to enable a scheduled transmission of a third message () by the UE; ascertaining that no third message is received from the UE within a predetermined period of time and transmitting a command () to the UE ordering a restart of the random access procedure with the same pre-assigned contention-free random access preamble.
