A rotorcraft with at least one main rotor and a fuselage, comprising: a tail boom connected to the fuselage, the tail boom extending from the fuselage toward a duct-type portion; a shroud provided at the duct-type portion and forming a transverse duct; at least one ducted tail rotor rotatably arranged in the transverse duct, wherein the at least one ducted tail rotor comprises a plurality of rotor blades mounted to a rotatable rotor hub; and a stator with a gearbox fairing mounted to the shroud for supporting the rotatable rotor hub in the transverse duct, wherein the stator comprises at least one rotatable stator blade connecting the gearbox fairing to the shroud.

The present disclosure relates to a rotary wing aircraft that extends along an associated roll axis between a nose region and an aft region. The rotary wing aircraft comprises a main rotor; a shrouded duct that is arranged in the aft region and that forms an inner air duct, wherein the shrouded duct is formed to generate sideward thrust for main rotor anti-torque in forward flight condition of the rotary wing aircraft; and a propeller that is at least configured to propel the rotary wing aircraft in the forward flight condition; wherein the propeller forms a circular propeller disc in rotation around an associated rotation axis; and wherein the propeller is rotatably mounted to the shrouded duct such that the circular propeller disc is at least essentially arranged inside of the inner air duct.

A rotorcraft, and, more particularly, to a rotorcraft with a fuselage having a center line, at least one main rotor that generates vortices during operation, and a stabilizer wing, whereby the stabilizer wing has a planform that reduces the unsteady aerodynamic loads caused by the wake of the at least one main rotor. In particular, the stabilizer wing may be provided with a left wing tip, a right wing tip, a quarter chord line with a non-zero curvature, such that an interaction between the vortices generated by the at least one main rotor and the quarter chord line is spread out over time, a leading edge that is arc-shaped, and a trailing edge that is arc-shaped.

A rotor comprises at least two rotor blades, and each rotor blade of the at least two rotor blades rotates around a rotor axis and performs pitching around a pitch axis. The rotor axis and the pitch axis intersect in a rotor center. The rotor is characterized in that each rotor blade comprises at least one permanent magnet having a first spherical magnet surface. Each rotor blade further comprises a pitch control apparatus for controlling the pitching of the at least two rotor blades. The pitch control apparatus comprises electrically controlled magnets having a second spherical magnet surface.

A rotor drive for a tail rotor of a helicopter is provided. The system includes a stator and a rotor mounted to the stator with a rotatable central carrier. Rotor blades are radially attached to the rotatable central carrier and each of the rotor blades is pivotable about their respective radial central axis for variation of blade pitch. At least one permanent magnet is provided on each rotor blade. A plurality of electromagnets is provided on the stator close enough to allow inductive interaction between the plurality of electromagnets and the at least one permanent magnet on each rotor blade. The permanent magnets are offset from the radial central axis in a direction perpendicular to the rotation plane for individual pitch control of the rotor blades by individual control of electric supply to the electromagnets.
