A device for applying an article to a moving object includes an applicator member having a base element and an arm element. The arm element is telescopically coupled to the base element such that the arm element is movable between a retracted state and an extended state. A biasing member biases the arm element towards its extended state and an actuator shaft is pivotably connected to the base element. The actuator shaft is eccentrically arranged and rotatable about a first rotation axis RA, and a support member is pivotable about a second rotation axis RAand slidingly supports a mid-section of the arm element. An applicator head is cyclically movable between a retrieval position and an application position in response to rotation of the eccentrically arranged actuator shaft about the first rotation axis RA. The arm element can be brought to its retracted state during movement of the applicator head from the retrieval position to the application position and can assume its extended state during movement of the applicator head from the application position to the retrieval position.

Device for applying an article to a moving object

A brake actuator for a railway vehicle brake system has a thrust sleeve configured to provide braking force to the brake system, and a slide axially moveable in the thrust sleeve between a release position and a locking position. The actuator further has a piston biased by spring means and linked to an anchoring member. A plurality of balls are disposed in respective openings of the sleeve between the slide and the anchoring member. In the locking position, the balls are configured to move under the action of a profiled surface of the slide to axially couple the anchoring member with the sleeve. In the release position, the balls are configured to axially uncouple the anchoring member from the sleeve. The profiled slide surface has a locking groove configured to engagingly receive the balls when the slide is in the locking position.

Brake actuator

A parking brake arrangement for a brake unit&#x2014;also having a service brake actuator&#x2014;has in a housing () a clock spring () for exercising a rotary motion at will on a parking brake gear wheel () in drive connection with a device (-) for delivering brake force from the brake unit (). The arrangement has two axially movable control sleeves () in drive connection with the clock spring (). The control sleeves form clutches (and, respectively) with the parking brake gear wheel () and the housing (), respectively. There are means (-) for controlling the axial movements of the two control sleeves and the engagement of the two clutches in such a way that either one of them is always in engagement.
