A method for wirelessly transmitting data packets within a measuring system from multiple field devices to a superordinate unit via a wireless interface of the each device includes distributing the data packet to the field devices; synchronizing the wireless interfaces of the field devices such that the wireless interfaces transmit with a defined phase shift relative to one another in each particular case; and transmitting the data packet to the superordinate unit via the wireless interfaces of the at least two field devices in synchronized fashion. This allows the data packet to be received by the superordinate unit with increased transmission reliability according to the invention. This ensures the data transmission between one of the field devices and the superordinate unit without a repeater or other added complexity even when there are individual obstacles.

Method for transmitting data packets

A method for operating a wireless field-device network, comprising: wirelessly transmitting a process variable and an expected remaining running time from each field device to the other field devices within a field-device network so that in each field device the process variable and the expected remaining running time of the other field devices of the field-device network are stored; activating a second radio module of that field device which has the highest expected remaining running time, and deactivating the second radio modules of the other field devices within the field-device network; wirelessly transmitting the process variables of all field devices of the field-device network stored in the active field device, or at least a subset of the stored process variables, to the superordinate unit, which is not part of the field-device network, by means of the second radio module of the active field device.

Method for operating a wireless field-device network

Disclosed is a field device adapter for wireless data transfer for connection to a field-device-internal interface provided for a display, comprising: an interface for connection to the field-device-internal interface; a radio module configured to wirelessly transmit a data packet on a low-power wide-area network, wherein the radio module is further configured to only transmit the data packet and not to receive any data packets; adapter electronics configured to limit an energy provided via the field-device-internal interface to a predefined value and to charge a stored energy source with the limited energy. The adapter electronics are further configured to monitor a state of charge of the stored energy source and, based on the state of charge, to provide the radio module with an energy originating from the stored energy source for transmitting the data packet.

Field device adapter for wireless data transfer

A field device for automation, comprising: a housing; arranged within the housing, a field device electronics, to which a maximum power is made available via a two-wire line; a memory element for storing of data, wherein the memory element, for exchange of data and/or for energy supply, is electrically connected with the field device electronics and, at least in the case of storing the data, requires a power, which at least at times is higher than the maximum power available via the two-wire line; a first, NFC antenna, which is adapted wirelessly to receive an auxiliary energy and to provide the auxiliary energy to the field device electronics; a second antenna, which is adapted to communicate the data wirelessly and to exchange such with the field device electronics; wherein the field device electronics is adapted to supply the memory element with the auxiliary energy.

Automation field device

A field device of automation technology includes a field device housing and a field device electronics arranged in the field device housing. The field device also includes a first rechargeable battery arranged in the field device housing for energy supply of the field device electronics and a receiving unit with a receiving coil for receiving wirelessly inductively transmitted energy. The receiving unit is connected with the rechargeable battery so that the received, wirelessly inductively transmitted energy is storable, and is stored, in the rechargeable battery. The field device electronics is adapted in such a manner that energy supply occurs exclusively or at least partially from the first rechargeable battery and wherein the receiving unit and the receiving coil are adapted to receive wirelessly inductively transmitted energy as defined in a Qi standard 1.2.4 or a standard derived therefrom and to store such in the first rechargeable battery.
