The invention relates to a device for applying a marking to the human eye, in particular on the cornea, comprising a marking head () and a retaining device () that supports the marking head (), wherein the marking head () comprises a marking element () and a support that retains the marking element () in a specifiable or changeable angular position, wherein the support is arranged in a rotationally fixed manner relative to the retaining device () or a reference line and wherein the marking head () can be detached from the retaining device ().

Device for applying a marking to the human eye

An improved method of inserting an intraocular lens into an eye comprising removing an existing lens so as to leave a capsular bag intact; at least partially inserting an intraocular lens having at least one haptic incorporating an aperture therein into the capsular bag; and inserting a capsular tension ring into the capsular bag such that the capsular tension ring passes through the aperture is disclosed. A replacement lens arrangement and a sterile packaging therefore are also disclosed.

Method for intraocular lens insertion and apparatus

An intra-ocular lens can be implanted as a posterior chamber lens by way of its lens body in a capsule sack remaining in the eye after an extracapsular operation. An equatorial edge of the lens body has a surrounding concave profile which is open to the outside and is bounded by two profile edges. At least one of the profile edges acts as a mechanical barrier against fibrosis on the rear capsule.
