A method for operating a hearing system worn by a user, the hearing system being a binaural hearing system including first and second hearing aids and being prepared for processing a sound. The processing includes a beamforming which can be adjusted to at least a first beamforming mode and a second beamforming mode. The method includes receiving sound by the hearing system, determining whether the beamforming is to be adjusted to the first beamforming mode or the second beamforming mode and adjusting the beamforming accordingly and generating a processed sound, and presenting the processed sound to the user.

Automatic real-time hearing aid fitting based on auditory evoked potentials

A hearing device includes an input transducer positionable at an ear of a user for converting an acoustic input to the hearing device into an input signal, and a filter providing a source signal based on a source band of the input signal and for providing a target signal based on a target band of the input signal. The source band contains lower frequencies than the target band. A modulation envelope processor processes the source signal to generate a modulation envelope signal. A signal combiner combines the modulation envelope signal with the target signal from the target band, generating a target output signal. The hearing device may also include a signal processor for processing at least the target output signal and providing a processed output signal, and an output transducer for converting the processed output signal into an acoustic output to be provided to the ear of the user.

A method of configuring a frequency transposition scheme for transposing a set of received frequencies of an audio signal received by a hearing aid worn by a subject to a transposed set of frequencies, wherein the method comprises determining at least one subject-dependent parameter indicative of the subject's ability to detect audio frequencies, and at least one subject-dependent parameter indicative of the location in frequency of one or more spectral cues, configuring a subject-dependent frequency transposition scheme based on the determined subject-dependent parameters, the subject-dependent frequency transposition scheme being configured so as to improve the subject's spatial hearing capabilities, and adapting the hearing aid to perform the configured subject-dependent frequency transposition scheme.
