At least one image capable of being provided by a mobile terminal and/or by an external computing device automatically selected; image data describing the at least one selected image is received; and image content information, which describes a color gradient of the at least one selected image, is determined by applying an image content determination criterion to the provided image data. The lighting device is controlled considering the determined image content information, wherein an appearance generated by means of the lighting device is adapted to the color gradient of the at least one selected image.

A system for imaging a scene includes a capturing unit to capture two-dimensional and/or three-dimensional information of the scene, the information including light waves from the scene; a first diffractive optical element to receive the light waves from the capturing unit; a waveguide to forward the light waves received by the first diffractive optical element, the first diffractive optical element additionally to couple the light waves into the optical waveguide; and a second diffractive optical element to couple the light waves forwarded by the optical waveguide out of the optical waveguide. The system additionally includes a first image sensor and at least one second image sensor to capture the light waves coupled out of the optical waveguide and to generate first image data and second image data therefrom. The first image sensor and the second image sensor are in a region paired with the second diffractive optical element.

A method of operating virtual reality glasses in a vehicle, in which a risk of motion sickness for a wearer of the virtual reality glasses is reduced with the aid of the method. A virtual reality system (IO) includes the virtual reality glasses and the vehicle. According to the method, a vehicle movement of the vehicle is evaluated in such a way that ultimately, after the image data describing the virtual surroundings have been split into a background image dataset and a foreground image dataset, a lateral offset for a position of an object in the foreground in comparison with the background is determined, so that virtual surroundings which are processed in this way can be determined and displayed. Alternatively, the virtual surroundings can be enlarged in accordance with the vehicle movement, and processed virtual surroundings can be determined by a movement of the enlarged virtual surroundings along a movement trajectory, and displayed.

Method for operating virtual reality glasses in a vehicle and virtual reality system with virtual reality glasses and a vehicle

A design screen and at least one detection device with an image capturing device and a carrier medium are provided in an external lighting device for a motor vehicle. The carrier medium is a flat waveguide on which a coupling region and a decoupling region are provided. The carrier medium is adapted to the surface shape of the design screen. The coupling region and the decoupling region are each a holographic element. Light incident on the external lighting device from the surroundings is coupled into the carrier medium via the coupling region, is transported to the decoupling region by internal reflection in the waveguide, and is decoupled at the decoupling region. The image capturing device detects the decoupled light and provides image data which correlates to the detected light.

External lighting device for a motor vehicle

According to a method for activating a privacy device and a motor vehicle having a display device, which may be arranged on a dashboard of the motor vehicle and may include a liquid crystal display screen which may be assigned at least to a front passenger position, the liquid crystal display screen is divided into a plurality of segments. A respective segment includes an electronically switchable privacy device, which is configured in an activated state, to block a display of a display image of the respective segments from the viewing direction of a driver position and to permit the display from the viewing direction of the passenger position, and, in a deactivated state, to permit the display from both viewing directions. The display device is configured to determine the segments on which a moving entertainment content is displayed, and to activate the privacy device for these segments.

Motor vehicle having a display apparatus, and method for activating a view protection device

A spectrometry device includes a carrier medium, or waveguide, for transmitting light by internal reflection, and a transceiver device that has at least one light source and a detection device. A transceiver deflection structure couples at least the light emitted by the light source into the carrier medium. A measurement deflection structure, arranged at a distance from the transceiver deflection structure, decouples the light out of the carrier medium onto a measuring surface of the carrier medium so that the biological tissue can reflect the light back to the carrier medium. The reflected light is transmitted back onto the detection device via the measurement deflection structure, the carrier medium and the transceiver deflection structure. The detection device determines an intensity signal of the reflected light which is used by an analysis device to determine a pulse frequency signal and/or a pulse curve signal as a medical characteristic value.

A detection device provides a voice signal of a person and includes a light source, a first planar carrier medium, a second planar carrier medium, a sensor device, and an evaluation device. The first planar carrier medium includes an input coupling region and an output coupling region. Light from the environment is coupled by the coupling regions into the carrier medium which provides a light guide that transfers the light to an additional holographic-optical element which provides a decoupling region to decouple the light from the carrier medium. An image capture device captures the decoupled light and produces image data therefrom. A separating device produces the spatially representative image data from the image data by capturing the light incident on the coupling regions in a manner separated temporally or by color.

A camera device having an enlarged or wide-angle field of view generates images of surroundings simultaneously using only one image capturing unit, such as an image sensor, for example. The camera device uses a diverting unit disposed upstream of the image capturing unit. The diverting unit includes so-called holographic optical elements which, based on their deflection structures, divert or deflect light so that the camera device can capture the wide-angle field of view, without generating imaging aberrations on the resulting image(s). The deflection structures are wavelength-selective and/or angle-selective. The total field of view is subdivided into individual angle-of-incidence regions by virtue of the properties of the deflection structures.

An apparatus for color-dependent detection of image contents includes a light input coupling apparatus, carrier medium, measuring region, output coupling region, and camera apparatus. The light input coupling apparatus includes a light source to emit light at a first wavelength. The measuring region includes a first diffraction structure that outputs light at the first wavelength. The first diffraction structure is formed as a multiplex diffraction structure to input light in a second wavelength range. The output coupling region includes a second diffraction structure formed as a multiplex diffraction structure that outputs light at the first wavelength and the second wavelength range. The camera apparatus captures light output from the carrier medium to the camera apparatus, and provides the light in a form of image data which correlates with the light.
