A method for producing an electromagnetic component for an electric machine is provided. The method includes providing a metal sheet as a starting material; punching out a number of lamellae from the metal sheet; heat-treating the lamellae; and joining the heat-treated lamellae to form the component or a portion of the component. The electromagnetic component to be produced can be a laminated core, for example a stator core or a rotor core, and can be provided for use with the electric machine such as an electric motor.

The invention relates to a method for producing a lamination stack, e.g. a stator package or a rotor package. An electric motor with a beveled stator and/or rotor has at least one layer of a composite material. The composite material has at least one electrical steel strip layer as carrier and at least one polymer layer. The composite material can be used for reducing acoustic emission in beveled electric motors. A method of reducing acoustic emission in these electric motors is based on the use of the composite material.

A composite material, especially for use in a stator stack and/or rotor stack is disclosed. The composite material includes a first and a second electrical steel strip layer and a polymeric layer arranged in between, wherein the polymeric layer consists of a crosslinked acrylate-based copolymer of high molecular weight and has a layer thickness in the range from 3 to 20 &#x3bc;m.
