A system for performing measurements of an eye comprises: a measurement tool that measures the eye, at least one rest that maintains a facial measurement position and defines a centering rest portion that maintains a lateral facial measurement position; an adjuster mechanism that moves an objective of the measurement tool relative to the eye; and a processing unit configured to control the system. The unit controls the system to position, for a first eye, the objective at a predefined first pre-scan position; scan the objective away from the first pre-scan position until the system detects a pupil of the first eye; and trigger one or more measurements of the first eye dependent on the system detecting the pupil of the first eye.

System and controlling method thereof for performing measurements of an eye

In one embodiment, an apparatus comprises a touchscreen and a control device for executing an operating command which is input on the user side via the touchscreen. The control device is adapted to control the touchscreen such that, in order to prompt a command input, a first graphic element marking a touching starting location and a destination graphic arrangement having at least one second graphic element at a distance from the first graphic element are displayed on the touchscreen. The control device is further adapted to recognise a command input depending detecting a first movement of at least one object over the touchscreen starting from the touching starting location continuously up to a second graphic element of the destination graphic arrangement and on reaching this second graphic element a movement stoppage of the object, followed by a follow-up action of the object on the touchscreen.

Apparatus equipped with a touchscreen and method for controlling such an apparatus

In an embodiment, a scanning optical system comprises first and second optical sources and a deflector device. The first and second optical sources provide first and second beams, respectively, of optical radiation. The deflector device is disposed to receive and deflect the first and second beams, and is configured for a scanning operation on a beam of radiation traversing the deflector device. The first beam is incident on the deflector device with a first orientation and the second beam is incident on the deflector device with a second orientation that is different from the first orientation.

In a process for optical coherence tomography a plurality of first OCT slice images, in each first slice image representing a different slice of an object, are recorded. Subsequently a reference figure that is representative of the three-dimensional contour of at least one structural feature of the object in a given three-dimensional coordinate system is ascertained by feature recognition of the at least one structural feature in the first slice images. Then a plurality of second OCT slice images, each second slice image representing a different slice of the object, are recorded. At least a fraction of the second slice images are displaced in the coordinate system until each second slice image is in feature overlap with the reference figure. Lastly, a set of three-dimensional OCT image data is generated at least from the feature-overlapped second slice images.

A technique for optical coherence tomography is provided. As to a device aspect of the technique, an imaging device comprises a base defining a rotation axis, a scanning and focusing assembly mounted to the base for rotation about the rotation axis, and a drive unit for rotationally driving the scanning and focusing assembly about the rotation axis. The scanning and focusing assembly includes a focusing device for focusing a beam of imaging radiation to produce a focused beam of imaging radiation having a focus, a scanning member for scanning the beam of imaging radiation, and a controller coupled to the drive unit and the scanning member and configured to control the scanning member to cause movement of the focus along a predetermined trajectory with respect to the scanning and focusing assembly.

Device for assisting in the preparation of an operation on the human eye

A device for ophthalmic surgery includes a vacuum-pump arrangement for generating a vacuum serving for fixing a suction ring to an eye, an evacuation-path system for transmitting the vacuum to an interface port which permits the separable attachment of a suction-ring instrumentarium including the suction ring, and also a control unit for controlling the vacuum-pump arrangement. In accordance with the invention, the device includes pressure-measuring components for measuring at least the vacuum pressure, the control unit adapted to ascertain a differential pressure between the measured vacuum pressure and an atmospheric pressure. The vacuum-pump arrangement is preferably operated at maximal pumping power in a test-operation mode with suction-ring instrumentarium not attached, in order to ascertain an optimally obtainable relative underpressure in the evacuation-path system. In this way, in the case of fluctuating altitudes of the location of use of the ophthalmic-surgery device and also in the case of fluctuating weather conditions (low pressure, high pressure) it can be ascertained at all times whether the achievable relative underpressure is sufficient.
