This disclosure provides various embodiments for generating reports relating to UI models' compliance with a set of UI style guide rules. A digital UI model is parsed to determine whether a user interface, in a plurality of user interfaces within a software environment, satisfies at least one UI style guide rule in a plurality of UI style guide rules associated with the software environment. The digital UI model defines a plurality of attributes of the user interface. At least one statistical measure is calculated relating to compliance with UI style guide rules. The calculation of the statistical measure is based at least in part on the determination of whether the user interface satisfies the at least one UI style guide rule. A report is then generated identifying the at least one statistical measure, the report configured for presentation on a user interface of a computing device.

This disclosure provides various embodiments for checking user interfaces' compliance with user style guide rules in connection with a UI development tool. A particular digital UI model is identified in a plurality of digital UI models, each UI model representing attributes of a corresponding software application user interface in a plurality of user interfaces available for access by a UI development tool adapted to modify attributes of user interfaces in the plurality of user interfaces. The particular UI model represents attributes of a particular user interface accessed by the UI development tool. The particular UI model is parsed to determine that at least one attribute of the particular user interface violates at least one UI style guide rule. Results are presented in a user interface of the UI development tool, the presentation indicating that the particular attribute of the particular user interface violates the UI style guide rule.

In response to the selection of the input data field, a user interface having an inner concentric circle and an outer concentric circle is generated. An angular velocity of circular movement from the contact point around one of the concentric circles is measured. An input data value is adjusted at a granularity based on the contact point and at a rate based on the measured angular velocity of circular movement.

Automated generation of business correspondences includes accessing a template to retrieve a business form. The business form is encoded within a word processing application encoded, but also includes encoding for the dynamic generation of one or more fields consistent with formatting that is predefined in a template. Through the retrieval and filtering of business information, the business form includes dynamically generated business information data fields consistent with the filtered business information. The business information populates the appropriate fields in the business form, maintaining the proper formatting, including stylistic and table designations, because of the database formatting of the fields. As such, the business correspondences may be automatically generated with proper and consistent business information formatting. Meta data associated with the data fields in the template may be also used for other programming operations.

The present invention provides a system and method for displaying an external user interface in a groupware application to allow a user to access another application from the groupware application. The external user interface may be accessed from an initial screen within the groupware application that may allow a user to choose from multiple external applications. The user interface may then be expanded to also display user interfaces associated with the application that was selected, as well as the user interfaces associated with the e-mail program. With the external user interface, the user may navigate through the external application from the groupware application by sending multiple queries.
