An apparatus for sterilizing a liquid comprises a container having an inlet, an outlet and an interior with an outer wall, and a light source adapted to emit radiation in the ultraviolet wavelength range through the outer wall into the interior, the outer wall being partially transparent. The inlet comprises an opening, positioned in relation to the outer wall of the interior and the light source in order, when a pressure is exerted on the liquid to be admitted through the opening and to be sterilized, to form a liquid jet directed onto the outer wall in a region of the light source, above the latter, and/or to form a liquid film there. The liquid jet impinging on the outer wall may flow down thereon as a thin liquid film in front of the light source and thereby effectively sterilized even with a low penetration depth of the UV radiation.

Apparatus for sterilizing a liquid

A lamellar arrangement for shielding radiation acting on a fluid which flows through an interior of a device, comprises two or more lamellae aligned substantially parallel to one another and respectively defining an intermediate space between them, wherein at least one subset of the lamellae is respectively subdivided into at least three lamella sections comprising a first lamella section, a second lamella section next to the first lamella section and a third lamella section next to the second lamella section. The first lamella section and the second lamella section in this case enclose a first angle between them, and the second lamella section and the third lamella section enclose a second angle between them. The first angle has a magnitude in a range of from 20° to 45° and the second angle has a magnitude in a range of from 20° to 45°.

Lamellar arrangement and device for sterilizing a fluid by means of UV radiation comprising such a lamellar arrangement

The invention relates to a device for irradiating a liquid with electromagnetic radiation, in particular for sterilizing an in particular flowing liquid by means of UV radiation (UV reactor), comprising a container having an inlet for receiving the liquid and having an outlet for releasing the liquid from the container, wherein within the container a variable or adjustable irradiation zone is provided for irradiating the liquid with electromagnetic radiation, in particular UV radiation, emitted by a radiation source. In the irradiation zone the liquid is configured in the form of a liquid layer having the layer thickness which extends between the underside of the container and a gas bubble expanding above the liquid layer.

Device and method for irradiating a liquid

In various exemplary embodiments, an illumination arrangement is provided, including a light source for providing laser light and a diffusely reflective material and/or a phosphorescent material and/or a fluorescent material, which is arranged on a surface in the illumination arrangement in such a way that light provided by the light source impinges on the material, wherein the surface forms a hollow body having one or more partial surfaces which are arranged in a manner facing one another at least in part in such a way that light reflected or generated by material arranged on one partial surface impinges at least partly on material arranged on the same or another partial surface of the surface, and both the incidence of the laser light and the emission of the reflected or generated light are effected via the same surface of the one or more partial surfaces.
