An apparatus and a method for treating an object manufactured from a material having a defined melting temperature, by subjecting the object to hot isostatic pressing to reduce porosity and increase a density thereof. The method comprises arranging the object in a pressure chamber interior cavity, submerged in a liquid partially filling the cavity, heating the liquid to a below melting temperature, pressurizing the liquid by pressurizing gas above a liquid surface in the cavity, then moving the object out of the liquid, but still within the cavity, subsequently heating the liquid to an above melting temperature, and resubmerging the object in the liquid. Subsequently, the object is withdrawn from the liquid and moved above the liquid. The apparatus comprises the pressure chamber, a movable object support in the cavity, a liquid heater, and a gas inlet and outlet selectively introducing gas into and venting gas from the cavity.

Method and apparatus for treating an object

A lift flap bearing apparatus is improved with respect to aerodynamics, construction space and assembly, for guiding and adjusting a first lift flap and a second lift flap. The lift flap bearing apparatus comprises a first guiding device for guiding the first lift flap and a second guiding device for guiding the second lift flap. The first and the second guiding devices each have a first curved guide rail and a second curved guide rail.

The method according to the invention allows the production of a complex, integral (onepiece) fiber composite part having a plurality of internal and undercut stiffening elements employing removable cores. Because connection elements are no longer necessary, a high weight savings potential results, because, for example, rivets and rivet flanges required for this purpose, as in the case of conventional assembly from individual parts (differential construction), become superfluous.

A molding tool for manufacturing a fiber-reinforced plastic aerodynamic aircraft component, which aircraft component, in order to form several bays arranged on the inside and delimited by an outer skin and spars arranged spaced apart from each other, in each case includes a multi-part mold core that matches the shape of the respective bay, wherein to conform to local skin reinforcements and/or spar reinforcements that extend into at least one of the bays, the multi-part mold core includes four or five core parts, of which two core parts comprising a triangular cross section are arranged along opposing edges of the bay, which edges interact with two or three core parts that fill the space between the two triangular core parts, which space extends diagonally relative to the bay.
