A method performs directional signal processing for a hearing instrument. First and second input signals are generated by first and second input transducers, respectively, from a sound signal. The first front intermediate signal and a first rear intermediate signal are each formed from the first and second input signals. A first superposition of the first front intermediate signal and the first rear intermediate signal is formed by a complex-value first superposition parameter and is adapted based on the first superposition parameter. A complex value of the first superposition parameter resulting from the adaptation of the first superposition is converted into a first alternative parameter and a second alternative parameter. An output signal is generated based on the first alternative parameter, the limited second alternative parameter and a superposition of the first and second input signals.

Method for directional signal processing for a hearing instrument

A method for eliminating acoustic reverberation in an audio signal. First and second level measurements are performed on the audio signal. The first level measurement uses a first attack parameter and a first decay parameter to measure a first attack time and a first decay time. The second level measurement uses a second attack parameter and a second decay parameter to form a second attack time that is identical to the first attack time and a second decay time that is longer than the first decay time. A difference between the first and second level measurements is calculated. The difference and the second level measurement are used to estimate a reverberation interference level, and the first level measurement and the reverberation interference level are used to ascertain a gain parameter for the audio signal.

Method for eliminating acoustic reverberation in an audio signal, and hearing instrument

A method for directional signal processing of signals of a microphone array, including first and second microphones generating first and second input signals from an ambient sound, uses the first input signal to form a reference signal transformed into the frequency domain, thereby generating a frequency-space reference signal. The first and second input signals are transformed into the frequency domain, and a first frequency-space directional signal is formed in the frequency domain using the transformed first and second input signals. A frequency-resolved comparison of the frequency-space reference signal with the first frequency-space directional signal or signal derived therefrom in the frequency domain, is used to generate frequency-dependent first gain factors to generate a time filter in the time domain. The reference signal is filtered by the time filter and an output signal is generated from the reference signal filtered by the time filter.

Hearing instrument and method for directional signal processing of signals in a microphone array

A method for processing an input audio signal includes using a first analytical filter bank to divide the input audio signal in a first frequency splitting process into a plurality of first frequency bands. The first frequency bands of a first subgroup are divided in a further frequency splitting process by a further analytical filter bank into a plurality of frequency subbands. The divided input audio signal is frequency-selectively processed or amplified. The divided and processed input audio signal is then combined again into an output audio signal. A prediction is applied to the first frequency bands of the first subgroup and/or the frequency subbands derived therefrom, to compensate for latency differences between the first frequency bands and the frequency subbands as a result of the or each further frequency splitting process. A device or hearing aid for carrying out the method is also provided.

Method and device for frequency-selective processing of an audio signal with low latency

A method for directional signal processing for a hearing aid includes generating first and second input signals from an ambient sound signal using first and second input transducers of the hearing aid and forming first and second directional signals based on the input signals. The directional signals have relative attenuations in directions of first and second useful signal sources. First and second amplification parameters for amplification of first and second useful signals of the signal sources are ascertained. A reference directional characteristic is defined for a reference directional signal. Based on the amplification parameters as a function of the reference directional characteristic, corrected first and second amplification parameters are ascertained so that an output directional signal, formed as a sum of the directional signals weighted by using the corrected amplification parameters, merges into a linearly scaled reference directional signal, if the first and second amplification parameters are equal.

Method for directional signal processing for a hearing aid and hearing system

A hearing system assists the hearing of a user and has a hearing instrument worn in or on the ear of the user. In operation, a sound signal from surroundings of the hearing instrument is received by an input transducer and modified in a signal processing step. The modified sound signal is output by an output transducer. A first signal component and a second signal component are derived from the received sound signal, wherein these signal components chronologically overlap. In the first signal component, the ego voice of the user is emphasized over the ambient noise, while in the second signal component, the ambient noise is emphasized over the ego voice of the user. The first signal component and the second signal component are processed in different ways in the signal processing step and combined after this processing to generate the modified sound signal.

Hearing system having at least one hearing instrument worn in or on the ear of the user and method for operating such a hearing system

A method performs directional signal processing for a hearing aid. First and second input transducers of the hearing aid generate first and second input signals, respectively, from a sound signal. A first calibration directional signal which has a relative attenuation in the direction of a first useful signal source is generated from the first and second input signals, and a second calibration directional signal which has a relative attenuation in the direction of a second useful signal source is generated from the first and second input signals. A relative gain parameter is determined from the first and second calibration directional signals. First and second processing directional signals are generated from both the first and second input signals. A source-sensitive directional signal is generated from the first and second processing directional signals and the relative gain parameter. An output signal of the hearing aid is generated from the source-sensitive directional signal.

A method reduces noise in an audio signal. In the method a signal component subsequent to the prediction time is predicted for a plurality of prediction times with reference to signal components of the audio signal that are respectively prior to the prediction time. A predicted audio signal is formed from the signal components respectively following a prediction time, and a noise-reduced audio signal is generated based on the predicted audio signal.

Method for reducing noise in an audio signal and a hearing device

A method of suppressing an acoustic reverberation in an audio signal includes providing an audio signal, carrying out a first level measurement of the audio signal and carrying out a second level measurement of the audio signal at least temporarily during the first level measurement. The first level measurement is carried out with a decay time and/or adjustment time that differs from a decay time or adjustment time of the second level measurement. An acoustic reverberation of the sound event in the audio signal is suppressed by attenuating the audio signal in response to a sound event in the audio signal. The attenuation is controlled as a function of a difference between the first level measurement and the second level measurement. A hearing device is also provided.

Method of suppressing an acoustic reverberation in an audio signal and hearing device

A method distorts the frequency of an input signal that is present as an audio signal. Here, the input signal is divided into a low-frequency signal component and a high-frequency signal component. These two signal components adjoin one another at a cut-off frequency. The high-frequency signal component is frequency-distorted and overlaid with the low-frequency signal component to form an output signal. An associated gain factor is modified, at least for an edge region, containing the cut-off frequency, of the high-frequency signal component and/or of the low-frequency signal component, such that a level difference between a signal level of the low-frequency signal component and a signal level of the frequency-distorted high-frequency signal component is increased.

Method for distorting the frequency of an audio signal and hearing apparatus operating according to this method

A method performs frequency distortion of an audio signal. The audio signal is divided at at least one division frequency into a low-frequency band and a high-frequency band. A frequency-distorted signal is generated through respectively different distortions of frequencies for the high-frequency band and for the low-frequency band. The division frequency is selected such that it is located between two neighboring tones of a given tonal system.

Method and hearing aid for the frequency distortion of an audio signal

A method operates a hearing aid which has at least one input transducer and at least one output transducer. An input signal is generated by the at least one input transducer from a sound signal in the environment. From the input signal, a classification of a hearing situation of the environment is determined and/or at least one of four parameters including tonality, loudness, stationarity and reverberation time is determined for the sound signal of the environment. A first intermediate signal is generated in dependence on the input signal by signal processing. Wherein by the classification of the hearing situation and by at least one of the four parameters of tonality, loudness, stationarity and reverberation time, at least one parameter of a frequency distortion is predetermined. The frequency distortion predetermined in this way is applied to the first intermediate signal.

A method operates a hearing aid where a sound is recorded by a microphone. The sound is analyzed with respect to the correspondence thereof with the own voice of the hearing aid wearer and a characteristic value is produced, which indicates how strongly the sound corresponds with the own voice. The own voice is a sound type. The characteristic value is compared with a threshold value and, depending on whether the characteristic value lies above or below the threshold value, the sound is identified as the own voice. Depending on whether the sound has been identified as the own voice, the hearing aid is switched among a plurality operating modes. The method is characterized in that the threshold value is set in accordance with the user. Thus, an improved own-voice identification recognizer is formed, which distinguishes the own voice of the hearing aid wearer from another sound type.

A method for detecting a defect in a hearing instrument that has at least one first input transducer and at least one output transducer. A first transfer function of a first acoustic system, which includes the output transducer and the first input transducer, is determined, and at least a first reference function for the first transfer function is determined. The first transfer function is compared with the first reference function and a defect in the hearing instrument is detected based on the comparison. A hearing instrument with an input transducer and an output transducer is set up to carry out the method.

A method for the frequency distortion of an audio signal includes splitting the audio signal into a plurality of specified frequency bands, in which a band limit frequency is defined in each case by two respective immediately adjacent frequency bands. A first frequency band and a second frequency band lying immediately above the first frequency band are determined on the basis of the audio signal. A distortion of the frequencies differing from the distortion applied to signal components in the second frequency band is applied to signal components in the first frequency band, and a frequency-distorted signal is generated as a result. A method for suppressing an acoustic feedback in an acoustic system and a hearing aid are also provided.
