A wireless device () is configured to receive, from a network node (), in a measurement reporting configuration information element () of a measurement configuration or a measurement identity information element () of a measurement configuration, an indication () of for which cell the wireless device () () is to report a cell global identifier, CGI. In embodiments in which the indication () is received in the measurement reporting configuration information element (), for instance, the wireless device () may add a reporting configuration indicated by that information element to a list of reporting configurations at the wireless device (), e.g., as opposed to updating an existing reporting configuration. Regardless, the wireless device () may also be configured to report a CGI for the cell indicated by the received indication ().

Cell global identifier reporting in a wireless communication system

Methods performed by a network node having a first transmission mode configuration for a first cell in a radio access network may be provided. A second transmission mode configuration for a second cell may be obtained. A mobile terminal may be steered to the first or second cell based on which cell has the transmission mode configuration for supporting a higher data throughput. A method performed by a control node in a radio access network also may be provided. A first and a second transmission mode configuration may be determined for a candidate cell and a serving cell, respectively. A serving node may be configured with the first transmission mode configuration. A mobile terminal may be steered to the candidate cell or the serving cell based on which cell has the transmission mode configuration for supporting a higher data throughput.

Methods providing traffic control for increasing data throughput and related networks and network nodes

The present disclosure relates to radio network communication. In one of its aspects, the disclosure presented herein concerns a method for retrieving configuration information from a target Base Station (BS) in an E-UTRA New Radio-Dual Connectivity (EN-DC) wireless communication system. The method is performed by a source en-gNB. According to the method, a request message requesting configuration information from the target BS is transmitted to a first proxy evolved Node B (eNB). The request message comprises identifiers identifying the source en-gNB and the target BS, respectively.

Apparatuses and methods for configuration information retrieval

A method performed by a network node for locating a User Equipment (UE) is provided. The network node, the at least one portable network node and UE operate in a wireless communication network. The network node configures () the at least one portable network node to broadcast reference signals. The broadcasted reference signals trigger the UE to subsequently measure and report the quality of the respective reference signals to the network node. The network node then receives () subsequent measurement reports from the UE. Each measurement report comprises a current quality value of the reference signals sent by the respective at least one portable network node. The network node manages the respective at least one portable network node to approach the position of the UE by: Meanwhile analyzing the subsequent measurement reports, commanding () each of the at least one portable network node to move in a direction that is decided based on the analysis of its corresponding subsequent measurement reports one by one upon receiving them. The moving direction is to be performed such that quality values of its corresponding reference signals in subsequent measurement reports are increasing.

Network node, user equipment, and methods in a wireless communications network

According to an aspect, a wireless device () receives, from a network node (), a measurement object () that includes a list () of one or more cells for which to report a cell global identifier, CGI, or a list () of one or more cells for which not to report the CGI. Alternatively, the wireless device () may receive, from a network node (), a measurement reporting configuration information element or a measurement identity information element of a measurement configuration that includes a list () of one or more cells for which to report a CGI or a list () of one or more cells for which not to report a CGI.

The invention describes a method for handling of cell identities, performed by a first radio node of a wireless communication network providing radio coverage to a first cell. The first radio node is connected to at least one second radio node providing radio coverage to a second cell. The first cell has been assigned a first cell identity, and each of the second cells has been assigned an individual cell identity. The method comprises: determining that the first cell identity is the same as the cell identity assigned to one of the second cells; triggering change of cell identity for the first cell from the first cell identity to a second cell identity that is not used for any of the second cells, and sending, to the at least one second radio node, information on the change of cell identity from the first cell identity to the second cell identity.

Method and radio node of a wireless communication network for handling of cell identities

Disclosed is a method performed by a position calculation node () in a wireless communication network (). The node () is arranged for improving accuracy when determining positions in the wireless communication network. The method comprises obtaining a signal transport time value for each of a plurality of different geographical UE positions (UE, UE, UE), wherein the respective signal transport time value relates to the time it takes for a radio signal to travel between a first base station and one of the plurality of UE positions. The method further comprises obtaining a geographical position value for each of the plurality of different geographical UE positions, the position values being independent of the signal transport time values, and determining an actual geographical position for the first base station, based on the obtained signal transport time values, the obtained position values and a predefined geographical position for the first base station.

Improving accuracy when determining positions in a wireless network

A technique of providing performance management (PM) data by a network element of a wireless network to an Operations and Maintenance, OAM, system to which the network element is connected. A method embodiment of the providing PM data to the OAM system to which the network element is connected, the PM data being related to one or more objects associated with the network element, includes determining, by the network element, whether at least one of the one or more objects is an unmirrored object, the unmirrored object being invisible to the OAM system. If at least one of the one or more objects is an unmirrored object, the method accumulates, by the network element, PM data of the at least one unmirrored object with PM data of further objects associated with the network element; and provides, by the network element, the accumulated PM data to the OAM system.

Method of providing performance management data, corresponding network element and corresponding radio communication system

A method in a radio network node for selecting a second SCell of a wireless device. The radio network node sends () data to a network node, upon a request to release the wireless device from a first connected state, in which the wireless device is connected to a first PCell and configured with a first SCell. The data indicates the first PCell and the first SCell. The radio network node retrieves () the sent data when the wireless device enters a second connected state. Then, the wireless device is connected to a second PCell. The radio network node compares () the second PCell with the first PCell and the first SCell. When the second PCell is the same as one of the first PCell and the first SCell, the radio network node selects () as the second SCell the other of the first SCell and the first PCell.

Network node, radio network node, and methods for sending a second secondary cell of a wireless device

Embodiments herein relate to a method in a first radio base station () for enabling detection of a faulty antenna in a radio communications network. The radio communication network comprises the first radio base station () providing radio coverage in a first cell (), and a second radio base station () providing radio coverage in a second cell (). The first radio base station () receives, from at least one user equipment in the first cell (), a first set of measurement reports over a first period of time. At least some measurement reports are indicating a cell relation between the first cell () and the second cell (). The first radio base station () further forms reference statistics of the cell relation between the first cell () and the second cell () based on the first set of measurement reports. Furthermore, the first radio base station () receives, from at least one user equipment in the first cell (), a second set of measurement reports over a second period of time. The first radio base station () then forms current statistics of the cell relation between the first cell () and the second cell () based on the second set of measurement reports. The first radio base station () then compares the current statistics with the reference statistics to enable the detection of a faulty antenna in the first radio base station () or the second radio base station ().

Radio base station, radio network node and methods therein for detecting a faulty antenna

Methods, user equipment () and target base station () for supporting update of neighbor cell relations in a cellular communications network (). The user equipment () switches from being served in the source cell () by the source base station () to instead being served in the target cell () by the target base station. The user equipment sends (), to the target base station (), in association with the switching, an identifier of the source cell () in the cellular communications network () and a request for mobility report. The request for mobility report requests the target base station () to send a mobility report to the source base station () or a management entity () thereof. The mobility report reporting that a successful switch has taken place between the source cell () and the target cell (), thereby enabling updating of the neighbor cell relations based on the mobility report. Hence, reporting back of successful cell switching is enabled even when the target base station is unprepared by the source base station about the switching. Neighbor cell relations of at least the source base station may be updated based on the mobility report.

Methods, user equipment and base station for supporting update of neighbour cell relations in a cellular communications network

Disclosed is a method in a network node () for establishing neighbor cell relations in a wireless network for a source cell () served by the network node (). The method comprises establishing () a temporary neighbor cell relation for a received unknown neighbor cell identification; verifying () validity of the temporary neighbor cell relation, and establishing () a permanent neighbor cell relation based on the established temporary neighbor cell relation, if the temporary neighbor cell relation is found valid, thus avoiding that a false neighbor cell identification results in a faulty permanent neighbor cell relation. Disclosed is also a corresponding apparatus in a network node for establishing neighbor cell relations in a wireless network.
